Road to INBA Natural Universe 2013!

This is my first trek into the world of figure building and it started with the general idea of weight loss. I stand tall (or short) at 5'4 and last year I weighed 135 pounds. I lacked any muscle definition, I felt lousy most of the times, and overall I felt a bit on the pudgy side.

This September I decided to buckle down, lose weight, and start gaining muscle. I have been training for approximately 8 weeks. My husband has provided my training and diet plan to help get me started and in April I will begin training with my figure building coach.

I still struggle with body image, but I am hoping that with continued hard work I will gain a greater self-confidence.

In this log I will detail my diet and training for each day and upload photos every two weeks to help keep me accountable. I am excited to begin and look forward to any responses!

Here is my current diet plan:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: Low Carb
Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday: High Carb

High Carb Days:

Meal 1: 1 scoop whey, 1/3 cup oats, and 1 tsp peanut butter
Meal 2: 4 oz chicken, 150 g sweet potato or 3/4 cup rice, greens
Meal 3: 1 scoop casein, 13 raspberries, 1 tsp peanut butter
pre-workout: 6 Indigo-3G capsules and 1 scoop Power Drive
During workout: 1 scoop MAG-10
Meal 5: 5 oz chicken, 3/4 cup rice, greens
pre-bed: 1 scoop casein, fish oil

Low Carb Days:

Meal 1: 1 scoop whey, 1/3 cup oats, 1 tsp peanut butter
Meal 2: 5 oz chicken, greens, sprinkle of feta, sprinkle of almonds, 1 tsp olive oil
Meal 3: 1 scoop casein, 1 tsp peanut butter
Pre-workout: 6 Indigo-3G capsules and 1 scoop Power Drive
During workout: 1 scoop MAG-10
Meal 5: 5 oz chicken and vegetables
Meal 6: 1 scoop casein and fish oil

Here are two of my before and after pictures as well:

I will post my training plan tomorrow. Have a great evening to all!

Modified V-Diet

My package came over the weekend - was so stoked!
Started my Modified V-Diet today.

It's 4 Pm so Far I've covered
Breakfast- Shake- 2 scoops with water and Superfood Flameout
Snack 1/2 Shake Flameout
Lunch- Soup- With chicken chopped into in Flameout
Snack- 1/2 Shake

Not sure if the dizziness is from the meds (got sick last week) or lack of sugar lol

At 5pm- I'll have a full shake

Will be off to the gym to do my Nepa followed by V workout. It's not the ideal set up, but since my immune system is awful right now, not risking a set back playing outside.

Female
5"2
160 lbs
Novice.
Ordered my tape measure today. Should be in tomorrow. Will post how work out went.
Reason for diet- Got last year, piled on 35 lbs that won't come off. Doc says it's from the meds, but it should have come off by now! Since the "regular dieting and cardio" did nothing, giving this a try.

Update-
Left work early (something I never do) And car was stuck in an ice ditch for 3 hours. Took a total of 4.5 hours to get home. So... never made it to the Gym.
Think I will skip that road tomorrow and just work out at home! I'll just use resistance bands for this week until I can get to the actual gym. But then again, I'm mad enough to try again lol

Day Two- Went well diet wise. Still thank God I can eat one HSM a day lol.
Breakfast is tea followed by a shake. and Flameout(Ginger tea). For some reason It really fills my stomach and holds me right till 9:30am.
Snack- 1/2 a shake with a flame out
Lunch- Chicken and veggies flame out and 1 HRX (just started these)
Snack- Shake- 1/2 shake with a Flameout and HRX
Late eve meal before gym- Shame and Flameout
Dinner - Shake - ( I sense a theme lol) and flame out, with meds.

It seems that the 1 HSM is a good mod for me, A little goes a long way which is great.
Only thing two things I'm noticing is a constant low grade head ache and heart burn (should I anticipate this being the case for the next 1.5 months?)

Energy so far is fine, mood is fine- really thought I would be an evil person while on this.
Tape measure still has not come in. And I need to correct my weight- it's actually 168.7lbs.

Day 5- Made it to day 5!!
Only bad thing is for some reason I forgot to take the flameouts with my shakes.
Probably had something to do with the fact I never stopped working. Trying to chug shakes in between meetings- an adventure for sure.

Still getting headaches and the cold shakes. For some reason on Day 4 I noticed my vision was really blurry and my ears kept alternately whistling or getting stuffy. A little creepy. But it did not affect my NEPA work out (Treadmill 7.5% incline 3.5 mph. short 30 second intervals of 5.0) And my Valentines chocolate was my protein shake lmao

My HSM was so wonderful, I wanted to cry- Boss took us out for sushi- I did NOT the rice bowl.
But the Sashimi OMG. Oh and had a salad. No dressing. And Green tea- the real kind lol.

Guess the test will be this weekend when I go out. The only time I remember not drinking at a weekend party was when I was on pain meds... But I figure if I got through Valentine's day without blinking, I can do the party circuit.

Danielle's Journal

Hello! Welcome to my new journal. Some of you may remember me from Figure Athlete - I had a few journals over there starting with my first NPC Figure Competition through my first IFBB Pro Figure Competition. It has been quite the journey thus far and I am looking forward to what's ahead!

Right now my family and I have moved across the country (for the 5th time I think!) and we are getting settled back in our house in Washington State. I am anxious to compete again, but there are a few factors that will determine when that is - such as the schedule of my husband's training and next deployment, and our son's medical needs. He has Arthrogryposis and soon we will be going to Seattle Childrens to see a specialist. There's some surgeries we are looking into, so that may be in our future too.

Not to worry though -- our son is amazing and his condition certainly does not stop him from being a crazy toddler (just this morning he managed to get lotion from a pump bottle on the top of his head! lol) He is a sweet, joyful little boy and I will be talking about him in here from time to time I'm sure.

I will post more soon - recap what's been going on in my life and what is next!
