40th Birthday V-Diet Ext...

I am prepping for the V-Diet. Last weekend I purchased the V Diet Package 4. I need to purchase the flax seed and fiber capsules and then should be ready to go. I am at the end of a Conjugate Strength program that ends on May 18th and plan to start up on May 19th.

My background:

I was a professional cyclist for many years, won several national championships and even a couple of Olympic Trials. I was always a little chubby for a cyclist, but would get around 6% body fat for brief periods. Obviously, I didn't do any upper body workouts and generally looked like a concentration camp victim.

It has been about ten years since I stopped racing, and got a job. I own my own business with fourteen employees, and it tends to be stressful with 60-80 hour work weeks. I don't have any kids, so I can be about as selfish and self centered as I want. I do have a girlfriend that has been sick and she does require some care taking, other than that I am free of any responsibilities.

I have been lifting for about three years, thanks to an intro from crossfit (sorry guys -- give me your beating now). My max squat (ass to grass) and deadlift are both at 375lbs. I am weak overhead, maxing out at 195lbs with anything over head. Curious to see how this diet effects my strength.

I have had my body fat tested in a dunk tank five times over the last three years and it has fluctuated between 16-19%. My last two body fat tests (1/19/2013 and 4/20/2013) showed 18.8% body fat. I plan to re-dunk at the completion of the V-Diet.

4/20/2013
166.1 lbs of Lean Body Mass
38.5 lbs of Body Fat

Let's see what else. Can I say -- I am looking forward to getting going on this. I have a little patellar tendonitis, that if it flares up again I will simply stop the final conjugate strength cycle and just start on the V-Diet.

Looking for any input or thoughts on anything that can help me to be successful with this.

Hey guys,

First time posting on the forums (although I've been lurking). Starting my first V-Diet tomorrow in order to shed some fat for the summer. I would estimate my BF to be around 19%. I am stoked to begin this journey and plan on logging regularly in order to keep myself accountable. Before pictures and measurements to come tomorrow. My goals from this program are to reach a BF % of about 14% after the transition phase of the V-Diet. Let's see if this can come to fruition.

Hitting Rewind on 2012's Weight Gain

Hi folks,

I'm starting my V-Diet after Saint-Patties Day. It started with a hangover but that's the last sip of liquor I'll be having for the next 28 days (or 42 days... we'll see) and I'll not be getting drunk unless it's one hell of a special occasion moving forward. I love my whiskey so I'll be having my Friday night dram after this diet is done every two weeks or so. That'll be my little cheat :)

I'm starting this thing because I've got it in my head that my very fit fiancee that's been gifted with the very best genetics doesn't find me as attractive as she did a couple years ago. My confidence has taken a hit that's directly proportional with the size of my spare tire around my midsection.

I came here to get the support and advice that I need since I'm very prone to depression. Edit: I forgot to add that when that happens I'm very likely to eat my emotions and binge like I'm starving on high-carb foods. That's definitely my biggest downfall when it comes to my fitness.

So on with the measurements!

Day 1:

Height - 5' 11''
Weight - 225 lbs.
Neck - 16.5''
Shoulders - 47''
Chest - Upper - 43''
Chest - Lower - 44''
Waist - at Navel - 43''
Waist - at largest - 44''
Hips - at largest - 41.5
Upper Arm - L - 14''
Upper Arm - R - 14.5''
Upper Leg - L - 27.5''
Upper Leg - R - 27.5''
Lower Leg - L - 17.5''
Lower Leg - R - 17.5''
Ankle - L - 9.5''
Ankle - R - 9.5''

My goal is to drop to 185 lbs before the end of 2013. (40 lbs to go!) That's how much I was 3 years ago and I looked and felt great. After an arm injury in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I let myself go. I'm really regretting that decision and I'm shooting to get back into the shape I used to be in.

Good luck to me! :)

Here are my day 1 pictures (while hungover) :(

I did my first run at the V-Diet in 2010. Had great success during, and after. Lost a total of 20 lbs scale weight, in 60 days time. I'm sure I lost more than that in Fat weight, because I looked more muscular, and the inches all decreased in the right places.
After that, I have went thru some personal problems, and I let myself slide back to where I was, and then some.

Well, I'm not giving up. I am going to do the V-Diet, to help get the fat loss rolling again, and get my eating habits under control, do a transition phase for a month, then do the Indigo protocol, with Anaconda or Plazma with MAG-10 peri workout. I will probably start with Anaconda during the initial phase of Indigo, because of budget, then switch to Plazma.

Living a Lie

ordered the v pacakage yesterday figure it should get here sometime in the middle of next week and am planning on starting the day after. My story is 47 male about 5-7 200-205 lbs 60 hour workweek in an office with alot of stress alot of if that is the way I handle things internally. Workout once or twice a week half assed mostly KB work .

Food is ok about 50% of the time mostly paleo and then drink alot on the weekend mostly red wine and eat pretty much like a border line pig as well. Fast as well during the week alot of the time won't eat breakfast and a couple of time just supper , but eat a lot at that sitting.

The illusion or lie is that I am a healthy person , believe it or not the circle of peaople that I associate with daily are in a lot worse condition than me and actulay look at me like i am fit and I think that subconciously I am saying well i aint that bad. Bottomline is I am and quite frankly if I don't do something shortly I believe something realy bad health wise will happen .

I'm realy not living , Im just surviving and know I am much more than that. I am ready to change and have to . To me the velocity diet is the start of the second half of my life and ready to dominate it.

Will keep you posted once I start , goal is to lose 20 lbs get down to 185 and then take it from there

End of the Blob Era!

Hello everyone,

I decided to start the Velocity Diet tomorrow morning. It has been several weeks since I live with my overweight, but now I can not stand it. Every day I'm angry with myself. I'm totally piss off with my situation, and I think it's a good mindset to start the Velocity Diet.

My stats will follow tomorrow, along with the photo before. In average my height is 5ft9, and yesterday my weight was 205 pounds.

My main challenge will be getting the idea to my wife, who is lucky enough because she eats poorly, do not exercise, and remains thin. For my part, I am only thinking about food, I'm exercising 3-4 times a week, and yet I still gain weight. She wills not do this diet, but I know she's going to complain that I did.

Finally, sorry if my English is not very good, I also see this forum as an opportunity to practice my English writing.

The blob must die!

Stay tuned.

I Will NOT Quit

I circled the broken bones that span from August 2010 to July 2012.

Today I received the go ahead from my team of professionals to go for it. This means exercise as I wish. So I went to the gym and celebrated with my first chance at V-Burn since I started back exercising 4 weeks ago.

My journey goes back 2 1/2 years ago when a pregnancy, multiple broken bones and abdominal surgery played a part into packing 60 pounds on my short frame. Add a diagnosis of Osteoarthritis in my right foot and both knees and getting into shape post baby became a monumental challenge for me.

So skip ahead to today at the gym. I was asking myself "Why won't you post pics on this forum?" I believe 100% in the Biotest products, I believe 150% in this program Chris put together. After some arguing with myself in a way only a woman does the answer boiled down to this "If I fail it will be embarrassing."

I realized by not posting some before pics I gave myself the option to stop, quit and decide that my setbacks were just too much to ever get into the shape I was in when I met my husband on these forums 6 years ago. Now this pissed me off. When the heck did I become a quitter?!

Finally Doing It

Finally sucking it up and doing the V-Diet. A buddy of mine turned me on to the diet and the training and I have to admit that I'm excited about doing this. I'm all set up with my powders and supplements and actually, I just finished Day One. The shakes aren't bad at all, but I need to definitely add some ice cubes.

My goal is to follow this diet to the T. Nothing to eat except for my HSM - no straying away from it whatsoever. This is going to be tough though. I'm only through Day One and I already have cravings. The hardest part is just being at home and making dinner for my boys. Being at work on the diet isn't so bad, but in the short time I've been on the diet I'm already trying to find ways to occupy my mind.

In any case, I need to get my before pics taken as well as my measurements.

Wish me luck people. I'm going to need it.

Rob's 2 Week V-Diet/Pulse Fast Log

Hi all,
Next week I'm starting a 2 week v-diet/twice weekly pulse fast combo. I eat clean and don't have a problem controlling cravings, just hoping to shed the last few lbs to get down to the infamous single digit bf level, currently at 12.5-13% according to my last caliper check. I've had a lot of success using a weekly pulse fast for the past 5 weeks (did one yesterday, dropped 2.5 lbs!), so I'm hoping this will be the final push to get there. Here's what I'm planning:

M: V-Diet, training day (intermediate), NEPA
T: V-Diet, NEPA
W: V-Diet, training day (intermediate), NEPA
TH: Pulse fast, NEPA
FR: V-Diet, training day (intermediate), NEPA
SAT: V-Diet, V Challenge (intermediate), NEPA, HSM
SUN: Pulse fast, NEPA

HOT-ROX twice a day, and for peri-w/o I plan on using one scoop SWF and one serving MAG-10. NEPA will be a long walk in the park with my dog after work :) For this week I'm going to continue 6x per week training and carb cycling for fat loss, get my pics and measurements together, then hit it hard Monday!

Heather's Log

So, I started my V-Diet yesterday. Since I was starting on a Saturday, I started off with the V-Burn Challenge. That was an awesome workout. I am used to the circuits using kettle bells and rope jumping and box jumps, etc. but that was a great workout. Tricking your body, and changing your routine is what really helps for fat loss, so I am excited.

I'm 34 and I am in the Army. I have been working out with weights for about 12 years, so this kind of training is not new to me.

My goal is to be able to see my abs, and I believe that I will be able to do it through this diet/workout plan.

My stats are as follows:

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 154
Body Fat: 15.6%

I have done all of the other measurements, but will share them at the end of this experience.

I have read through the blogs and a lot of people say that it is hard just drinking these shakes as meals everyday, but that isn't at all how I feel. I think what has made it easier for me to transition into this diet is because for the past 6 weeks I have been doing John Berardi's Intermittent Fasting (IF). I was doing the 24 hour a week fast. Through doing that, I have changed my thinking about food. I was really surprised about how much energy that I had without eating anything for 24 hours. So, I don't believe that the V-Diet will be all that hard for me, but time will tell.

V-Diet: Overworked and Overweight

I work 60-80 hours per week between my full time, stressful office job and my part time game changer. Throw a family in the mix and the result is no time for the gym. I am tired of being out of shape with my regular diet of midnight frozen pizzas, Taco Bell and ice cream. With money being tight I could not afford supplements, but my part time job has paid off so well that I can now start the V-Diet (and take my family on vacation to the beach). I have changed my income, now I am changing my body.

Today is the first day of my V-Diet. I did this once before a few years ago with great success, but I remember having low energy and being quick to anger. Quitting is not an option for me, but I plan on this being a rough road. Hey, if it were easy, everyone would do it.

I started today with the anticipation that I am in for 4 weeks of hell with constant willpower struggles that I will overcome. So far I have had 3 shakes and am about to down the 4th and go to the gym. So far so good. I do feel a little empty as I am not extra bloated from my typical burger and fries lunch, but I do not feel hungry either.

I took pics and measurements yesterday and will post those a little later this evening.

Measurements taken day before day 1 of V-Diet (3/10).

So it's day one of my first V-Diet... The before pictures and measurements I took this morning were traumatizing. I've stuck to every aspect of the diet so far, supplements, shakes, everything on time. I haven't been hungry, just frustrated from getting up every 30 minutes to pee from all the liquid I'm consuming. Haven't missed food just yet which is a big deal since I consider myself a serious 'foodie.'

Today I joined a girlfriend for lunch. I sat at the restaurant in my gym drinking my shake and watching her put down a salad. I did pretty well. Really looking forward to my workout tonight and my NEPA which I plan on doing at the gym every day. I don't know if I could handle walking around NYC and Hoboken (where I live) and smelling the amazing foods being cooked for peoples dinner. For now I'll stick to the treadmill at least until the end of week 1. I'm so disappointed that I let myself go this much, but so unbelievably stoked to get my ass in gear and cross the finish line several inches smaller. Here we go, one day at a time.
Measurements to come.

2nd V-Diet Log

Hi,

Starting V-Diet in the morning. Done it previously about 3 years ago when was at 120kg (264 lbs). This got me down to 112kg (247 lbs) where i stayed at and slowly drifted back and forth to 115kg (253 lbs) for a couple of years. Took the next step 6 months ago eliminating wheat and gluten from my diet and sticking to about a 2500 calorie a day diet which got my to 101Kg (222lbs) just before xmas.

Im currently at 104Kg (229Lbs) although enjoyed myself at xmas mainly alcholol and chocolate so would expect to get back down to 101kg pretty quickly by eating clean for a week or so so will be interesting to see how the V-Diet accelerates this.

I done the first V-Diet as a last resort initially as my weight was getting out of control whereas this one is more about getting to the next level and unconscious competence! I was at conscious competence but obviously slipped back to conscious incompetence over xmas. Will be interesting and am blogging to hold myself accountable, dont want to fail this diet. Want to see out till the end!

I will post the pics and measurements in the morning. Have ordered my supps from Biotest UK which am still waiting to arrive but have some other whey protein aswell which im planning on starting either way tomorrow, dont want to put off for an extra few days! Also with the HSM thread i think it will be easier to keep clean and as mentioned in another thread cannot believe all these gluten free recipes, this is a life saver and will allow me take the next step post V-Diet.

CrH V-Diet Logs

Started the diet yesterday, Mon Jan 28. Started ok, not my berst workout, I'm doing intermediary, but it's always a little rough changing routines. I just finished 5 cycles of 5/3/1 a week ago. I will admit, I do miss it but looking forward to the new routine. Before I decided on trying the V-Diet, I was planning to switch to a more bodybuilding type of routine anyway because as is, I'm the "fairly strong but out of shape dude" in the gym.

What's my overall goal (not just for this diet, but for this year): Get back to how I was in my under-grad years over 18yrs ago...simple isn't it. I'm just a bit under 6'1", back then I was light-heavy weight between 195-205 lbs, bench 280 x 4, squat 400 x 5. Waist approx 33"

Here are my starting stats for the V-Diet:

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 255 lbs
Neck: 18 1/8"
Shoulders: 54 1/2"
Chest - Upper: 44 7/8"
Chest - Lower: 45 7/8"
Waist - at Navel: 45 3/8"
Waist - at largest: 45 3/8"
Hips - at largest: 44 1/4"
Upper Arm - L: 15"
Upper Arm - R: 14 8/9"
Upper Leg - L: 28 1/8"
Upper Leg - R: 27 7/8"
Lower Leg - L: 17"
Lower Leg - R: 17 3/8"
Ankle - L: 9 7/16"
Ankle - R: 9 3/8"

So I need to loose about 55 lbs of fat, 12" of the waist....no time to waist! Last check by fat ratio was around 24% (61 lbs) so I got some to spare I think.

Have to admit as well, it's only been two day but I'm loving the shakes, almost couldn't finish my for the day on Monday but who can resist chocolate and almond butter...

Day 1, 28 Jan 2013:

Followed diet, no mishaps

Front squat: 200x5, 190x5,190x5,190x5
Chin up: 5 sets of 4 reps with just bodyweight
Dumbbell bench press: (70lb dumbbells each hand)70x5, 70x5,70x5,70x5
Ab wheel rollout from knees: 5 sets of 4 reps

NEPA: On treadmill 4.4 mph @ 3.2% incline. 45 mins

Day 2, 29 Jan 2013:

Followed diet, no mishaps. Think it will be vanilla with peanut butter tonight.

NEPA: On treadmill 4.3 mph @ 3.5% incline. 50 mins

V-Diet 2nd Time Around

Hi all,

About 3 years back I did my first V-Diet with from my point of view good success (83.5 kilo start, 77.5 kilo finish). Since then I was able to almost keep my weight (today I weighed in at 78.6 kilos)About 12months back I started going to the gym again regularly and even though I did not really diet I feel that my body composition shifted since then to less fat and more muscle :-)

So looking in the mirror I wonder if I could make it one step closer to a 6-pack (or maybe a 4-pack) . Being 44 years old that for sure is not easy but it motivates me, then why not try.

So here it goes. Fat caliper measurements say, I have about 18% body fat (most it seems to me on my tummy). Even if I don't reach the goal I fel it is worth a try. I read that I need to get close to single digit body fat for a nice six pack, well I guess that is out of reach withone V-diet but I want to see where I end up after 4 weeks. My goal would be to get to about 73 kilos, that might not seem much weight loss but that would mean about 7% of my total weight.

Measurements and pictures will come later, but as I said: 44 years old, 78.6, body fat around 18%, not too muscular I am afraid (stil kind of skinny fat I guess)

Starting Velocity Diet

Ok, so I did the velocity diet four years ago on my last tour in Iraq and I am about to start it again. The one thing I am looking for but cannot find is the meal formula so to say. Basically how many scoops of what per shake and which time of day to do which shake combination. If anyone can help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it.

Btw the last time I did the velocity diet I had just finish my post Ranger school gorge of just eating whatever the heck I wanted for about six months. I lost 30 lbs over the course of the diet and felt great for the rest of my deployment and was able to eat pretty clean over there. Now I am finishing up school and need to drop weight again and clean up my diet before I re enter into the Military workforce.

I have attached a picture from the last time I did it. I can't remember but I think the time difference from the first to the last photo is two weeks.

Ok, I'm almost finished with day 2. I'm sore from yesterday's workout, which surprises me a bit, but I did bust a good sweat :)

The diet itself isn't a big deal to me so far. I've had some hunger pains, but a cup of hot green tea (unsweetened) works wonders. The HOT-ROX helps too, but I may increase to 2 pills a day starting tomorrow. I just experience dry mouth with this but no rapid heartbeat or anything.

Today is a non-workout day and I'll do the V-Burn Challenge tomorrow. I don't know about those pushups with the clap though....that's tough for sure..lol.

Feeling good - and refraining from a daily weigh in....can't wait to see results!

Everyone's log and end results are true motivation for us "newbies" :)

I was suppose to start on 1/20 but got started late on 1/22. O well. I am on day 5 at this point and going strong. Only had a few cravings but nothing too bad. I am leaving for USMC bootcamp on March 11th and want to be as light as possible when I go. I figure the V-diet is the quickest and safest way to do it without losing the strength I gained. I just finished about 8 weeks worth of 4x10 3 times a week with squat, bench, deadlift. I ended doing 300x10 for squat, 335x10 for deadlift, and 210x10 for bench. I am 6'1'' and 219lbs at the start on 1/22. I am hoping to get down below 200 before I leave.

I started on Monday, Dec 31st 2012. I took a 1 mile walk (it would have been longer but it's cold outside) and then rode on the exercise bike inside. I did the beginners workout but because I don't have big enough dumbbells I did barbell back squats and barbell bench presses. I used 100lbs + bar for squats and bench presses and 50lbs +bar for the rows. The rows were probably too light. I didn't time the planks but I'll do that next time.

I didn't ever feel hungry except after the workout. I did notice my habit of being bored or wanting to procrastinate and then wanting to snack. I didn't come close to caving.

Day 1 of V-Diet

Today marks day one of my V-Diet journey. I decided to try this diet out as it is something I have never done before. I find myself lacking discipline more so then ever and getting bored with typical dieting. I own a sports supplement company so I am constantly talking about the fitness lifestyle. Time to start living it again. I have not taken measurements yet but I weighed in at 197 just a few moments ago.

Today is my first day of The Velocity Diet. I just finished 40 minutes of NEPA and I feel great!

To say I am motivated is an understatement. I have been on both ends of the fitness spectrum (competed in bikini in the past). These days I can't even bring myself to look in the mirror but I'm looking to make some major changes in my food relationship and my workout routine.

Started 11/25

Forgot to start a new topic yesterday. My buddy and I are doing the diet together. I started on 11/25 and he's starting today 11/26. We're both just doing it for aesthetic reasons. Mostly just trying to lower our body fat percentages after three months of bulking.

My experience yesterday was that it was pretty easy. Not really feeling any hunger pains. The only problem I had were headaches throughout the day which I am guessing is because of a lack of carbs? I haven't done a workout yet. I figured I would wait for my buddy to start today.

As far as the supplements the superfood tastes pretty gross. But I'm thinking the key is going to be looking forward to the peanut butter and chocolate shake and night. It really tastes like a peanut butter cup.

Going to try and take some pictures tonight to post some before pics.

I started the V-Diet on 14 October. I used to be in good shape (boxed and bounced) but over the past few years good food and wine have left me untrained and skinny fat.

I ran Wendler's 5/3/1 Boring But Big 3 Month Challenge just before starting the V-Diet, and put on 10kg (mostly quality mass: I ate clean).

I have a uni reunion in December that I want to be looking good for, and I also want to get a jump start on the fat loss now that I'm training again.

Here are my stats (as of V-Diet day 2)

Age: 29 (turn 30 during diet)
Height: 194cm/6 foot 4
Weight: 113kg/249lb

All in inches:

Neck: 16.5
Shoulders: 54
Chest (armpits): 45
Chest (nipple): 47
Waste (navel): 41
Upper Arm L: 15.5
Upper Arm R: 15
L Thigh: 26.5
R Thigh: 26

Jordan's V-Diet Log Starting 11/2

Well,

It has begun, I will upload Before photos and Measurements soon.

Starting BF is 22% done by Caliper, so there is a certain margin of error.

Day 1 is a success, I cleaned our my food cabinet at work today and took it to nothing but the basics for the Diet. Kind of a weird feeling seeing it so empty. Working at a fire station with the holidays here we are constantly inundated with sweets and delightful goodies, so this will definitely be a challenge. I've walked by a German Chocolate cake that is amazing (I know, because it was my final treat last night) and I haven't made a move on it yet. So that is a success. (Little successes are key for me) Odds are this won't be a daily update on the log, but I will certainly attempt to update it frequently, at least weekly for sure.

V-Dieting Through The Holidays

I am down to my last 10 days of phase one of the V-Diet. 5"9'. I started at 153lbs. And now I'm at 140.6lbs. I feel really good, and I can definitely see my body changing. For once in my life, I actually have the beginnings of a 6-pack.

As a woman, I have struggled with cellulite through the years, and boy have I seen a huge decrease! I know I lost fat, and the best part is that I am replacing it with muscle. I'm starting to love the way I look and feel.

Anyway, the reason for this post is to tell you that I have been fearing this day in particular since I've started the V-Diet. It's Halloween! Which means SO. MUCH. CANDY.
I've really surprised myself at how well I've kept my self control. No cheating, just strict to the diet. Whenever I have an urge, I just picture my future results, and I get through it.

I'm hear just to ask if anyone else will be doing the diet through the holidays. I know I'll be on phase 2 for Thanksgiving. So what are y'alls techniques for keeping self control?

Have a good day everyone!
And Happy Halloween!
