Mash, I feel you (Um Yea, I wish, hehe)
Seriously speaking I call it my Weak-Week
Although it's usually only 2-3 days, yes about 5-6 days before
I've thought about working in the "deload" then
But the problem is if my cycle is 28 days each month
Fine, but it's a range 28-32, so too hard to plan it.
I think that training G is doing, would work.
I will make it flat week. I'm trying to not think about
It, mentally may work against me when I simply need
To buckle my chin strap , and push threw.
Sometimes I'm like damn that's why I had nothin(early cycle, or on the
Shorter end)
Good luck though if you are always x days then it may work?

Hey Up! Thanks for the advice girl! I think you're right and its frankly too complicated. I'm going to just fuck the hormones and go with the program.
Thanks, everyone!

I imagine a training cycle would look something like this in terms of volume/intensity:
Week 1 - Med
Week 2 - High
Week 3 - High
Week 4 - Low
I'm not sure I've ever heard of a macro-cycle that peaks in the middle...
Anyways, thanks for the sounding board, ladies!
Excuse me for posting in the Womens' forum; but I noticed this question, and wanted to respond that your proposed deloading above looks exactly like 5/3/1.

I think I'm powerful pretty much all the time, Maschy.
I think it's all the WATE-ON I've been taking. :)

I think you are referring to the rpe stuff and not the peak/flat weeks right? I agree really kind of what the rpe stuff is all about, best i can tell.
Worth looking into Maschy and really can takes use an rpe scale in what i think you are going to be doing for the meet?
And as far as the 5/3/1 stuff looking like the mesocycle you posted...lets just say not much new out there, just re-created so too speak.

Masch once thing I've been told is that women are vulnerable to ACL tears and similar injuries during periods due to hormones that affect ligament elasticity or something like that.
One issue I have is when it hits at the time of a meet. I have had my weight all good to go then last minute had to shed an extra few pounds that came with my period AND had shitty performance because of period plus last minute weight loss.
Other than that I train normally but I am more forgiving to myself on the first day.

Question for the ladiez:
For those of you who pull sumo - the fingernail on my right index finger often drags up my thigh and snags on my clothes. This interferes with my bar path and makes me feel like my nail might break off, and basically just fucks up my lift. Does anyone else experience anything like this?
I wonder if its a form issue, or whether it means I have to shorten my nails *sad face*
Any ideas, recs, etc.?

I guess I'll just have to wear bigger earrings to compensate for shortened nails. Thanks, Cal! Just as I suspected.

Shorten your nails or use powder on you legs. I have this problem with both hands since I use a hook grip so the nails pull on both legs. I keep my nails fairly short.
However, I made an interesting discovery when I did my nails for the first time ever and had an acrylic kind of coat put on. They were really slippery and slid up my legs very easily.

I need to buy some hand straps. I've never had any of my own before but I've used them a few times and they make a difference. Any advice on what to get? Does it even matter or are they all the same?

I decided to order these pink Versa Gripps. Hopefully they'll help me get 225lb next week!

Never used C4 but creatine is fine. Everyone has their preference as to when they take it - before, during, after....I throw mine in with my pre-workout drink.
I saw that you're using Indigo, have you looked at any of the pre-workout or creatine products in the T-Nation store?

Away. A lot of them got the boot from here and the ones that were left just felt mystified by the whole culling process that went on. I might start logging again just for the fun of it.

My girlfriend is getting into fitness and wants to learn how to squat/box squat. She seems to quit before she hits the box like she doesn't have the strength to sit and just falls for the last few inches. Can you be too weak to box squat? How can I help her learn to squat? She is pretty tiny and WEAK. Should I strengthen her up a little bit with some machines/ smith machine? Should I make the box a little bit higher until shes stronger? Thanks

Maybe start her out with just body weight squats until she gets the balance down.
