If your going to start with spinal flexion, explain the change to isometric abdominal training then properly rationalize why we should start working on greater ROM abdominal exercises then fine. This article seems ignorant as to why isometric training has become the prevalent style currently.

Most people that like this type of training and disagree with stability based abdominal exercises probably don't understand the latter.

@DSSG - Hmm. My guess would be that you're not bracing as well starting from that height, as seen by the fact that you clearly pass that position during any other deadlift variation (and would be fully tight from moving the weight to that point). Maybe look real hard at your form while starting racked and see if maybe you are lax. Interesting problem.

Nope. My rack pull from the shins is probably 20+ pounds weaker than my conventional.
