Press did look easy.

Meet is next weekend! Can't wait to hear about it.

And though it may bore some, how are you fitting the shirt different?

Vicki, I'm confident you can blow off 4.5 lbs in water manipulation by Friday. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyones results at the meet.

You're pulling conventional? Thought you'd gone to the dark side on that lift?

2 gal of water! I'm sure you'll make weight.

We're all pulling for you to have a super meet! You're a legend in these parts, you know?

O - I'm so excited to lift with these girls ! I'm sure I'll be posting some results on FB

Snap - yea, my conventional is still stronger than my sumo, my hips get beat up squatting wide and pulling sumo, I'm still trying, going to get some help from another sumo puller after this meet.

Up - Thanks, he hates spotting me but ya do what ya gotta do

G1 - So honored you stopped in, yea I've done the water cuts before sometimes it affects my bench, but hopefully not this time.

Made it down to Atlanta GA, only took about an hour longer than normal due to all the pitstops from drinking 2 gallons of water....today I'm down to a gallon, no carbs, no added sodium. Tommorrow down to 1/2 gallon, no sodium no carbs. Thurs morning we'll see where the weight stands ... if necessary, cut off all water and food about noon, hot baths in the evening and then weigh in Friday morning at 9 ...Then eat and rehydrate

Went to an LA Fitness for bench mondays!
speed bench 9 sets of 3 w/ 115
comp bench 1 set of 185 x 5, had to ask a guy for a handoff and spot, he did ok - I got all my reps
assisted pullups
incline DB press worked up to 55#'ers
DB row worked up to 60#'ers
lat pulldowns

Heading back over now for some blood flow work for the lower body now....

I'm really looking forward to how this making weight works for you(because I might need some advice on it) and how you are going to smash the weight.

quick check in....started at 168 Thurs morning, stopped eating drinking around 2 pm....weighed in 162, a little overkill. Now drinking and eating all day to rehydrate and replenish for big lifts tomorrow.

Meet Review
1st, this was the largest all women meet I think there has been. Over 40 female lifters, ranging from raw to multiply to bench only. The atmosphere was electric, all the men were just as awesome. I was having trouble getting in and out of my suit and 2 guys I didn't know just step right up to help me out. The support from everyone- from the other girls, to their coaches, and handlers, the audience, was just purely fabulous. If you are a female powerlifter or know one, the best thing you could do is to make sure they lift at this meet. There is actually another Women's ProAm in Sacramento this November. I'm now trying to save up and lift there also.

Ok, enough gushing....Cut weight from 168 to 162, a bit overkill like I normally do but I think I rehydrated well. The venue was small because I don't think anyone realize how many girls were going to be there....
Squats - opened at 440#, which is only 10# less than my last meet opener...good lift
2nd attempt 480# - then my handler had me take a big whiff of amonia and then stuck under my nose again...needless to say I wasn't thinking about much...and I forgot to latch my lever belt...once in the hole, I never made it back out...
3rd attempt - took the 480# again, got with a bit of loud "fuc#####" I kept seeing the back spotters hands so close out of the corner of my eye and i'm saying "don't you dare touch me or the bar" - good lift

Bench - was so awesome, and this was the lift I worried about....but had Kara Bohigian Smith in my corner for this one, she was great and gave me such confidence and motivation...
295# - easy
315# - out of the corner of my eye, I see my wristwrap unspiraling on my hand, oh shi*, just keep pressing Vik, and it got -
330# - almost but just couldn't quite lock out my right arm, haven't quite learned to spread the bar yet (still)

DL - this is not my best lift so it is what it is...
365# - easy opener
385# - good, bit of a grind....I was so tired by then I was going to pass on my 3rd, but the girls goaded me into another lift for the heck of it
400# - I acutally moved the bar a few inches and then I felt my lower back starting to go and since no way I was hitting a Pro total, it wasn't worth the potential injury so I set it down.

All in all, I'm very satisfied being 9 months out from bicep/shoulder surgery.
Squat - 30# PR
DL - 5# PR
Total - 25# meet PR....thus I guess I can shut this training log down as I have completed my Rehab Adventure.

Excellent job! Really liked how you came back and got that squat.
