kp,
I remember there were days in the Army when I used to love running, I think that all ended when I had to run a half-marathon in formation after drinking in Waikiki until 4AM, I ended up getting 2 IV's on the way to the starting point and I threw up about 200 feet after we started running. Cardio has held a certain horror for me ever since.
greystoke,
Your avatar is ridiculous, the only time people will see that sort of definition in me is during my autopsy.
3/12 Monday
Sand Bag Drags- up and down the hill about 25 times each way
18" Box Jumps- 25,25,20
Treadmill- Backwards Up Hill- 10 minutes
Abs- 3 sets leg raises to failure
Leg Press- 3 sets x 8 Reps
3/13
Fast Walking- 15 minutes out, 15 minutes back (missed my return pace by about 3 blocks.)
Abs- Old Fashioned Sit-Ups- 2 minutes per set 54, 47, 26 (abs are gassed)
Jump Rope (bad idea)- 1min on/2min off- 4 sets probably only jumped 20 times per minute, I need to figure out how to do this with the ankle fusion, I am seriously bored/frustrated 4 days into cardio land.

Tore the Plantar Fascia tendon in my right foot, also have some heel spurs. I am guessing now that I should have eased into the cardio. Shit, shit, shit.

Sorry to hear about what you are going through, but I think you are using the wrong shoes for running. Try to get fitted for a proper shoes it will make your runs much easier and less painful.

Pete,
I would but it's probably to taxing on my joints.
George,
I actually don't (can't) run I just walk fast dragging things, I'm pretty sure that when I broke my ankles the first time I also damaged my heel and Achilles so the "good" foot was just a ticking time bomb+ I am fat as hell.
KP,
YES!!! In this case I am wearing a boot and icing the crap out of the foot when it is not covered up. The neat thing is that I am in the boot for 4 to maybe 6 weeks, which dovetails nicely with my elbow/ligament/nerve debacle in my left arm. I am essentially being forced to be even more inactive than usual. So all things considered I will be fine by the end of April I suppose for both issues.
KM,
thanks, it's not as bad as I thought it would be so I am already planning my "forced rest", it's going to be really difficult (sarcasm).

KP,
Thanks.
Update
Met with my Ortho guy at the VA, he pronounced me healthy (ish) and told me to "listen to my body" with regards to things using my elbow, I also found out that the immobilizer sling thing they gave me was not just as I assumed a "suggestion", I wore it a couple times but seriously it sucked My foot is still in a boot but I can at least go lift (light) weights. I weigh 12 lbs more than I did on March 1st, apparently I have entered a bulking phase, who knew. Tomorrow I lift weights again so yay me.

Steely,
better a t-shirt than a cologne I suppose.
Pete,
yes they do, I also think that 4 weeks of eating and not lifting may actually make some people strong, just not me.
4/6/12
Waited until Friday to to lift, mainly because I have been getting really good at Modern Warfare 3 and I didn't want to lose my momentum. I am a lazy pig.
Bench- Bar x8, 135x5x5, 225x5, 275x3, 315x3, 365x2, 405x2 ( I listened to my body and it said do more) 415x2
Incline- 135x5, 195x5, 245x5, 295x3, 315x3
Seated OHP- 45x8x8, 135x5, 185x5, 225x5
Dbell Curls- 45's x 8x8x8x8 (These seemed to stress the elbow more than the other stuff)
Called it a day, today my boobies are super sore and my tri's have zeee pump, tomorrow is Easter so I shall rest and eat, all in all not half bad for a 1 month break but I really am sore as all get out today, oh well old fat men take heed and listen to your body lest you become a cautionary tale. As sore as my upper body is, imagine what my lower body will feel like when I can squat again.

Found out my beloved little dog (Gracie) has epilepsy, decided to curl up on the couch with her instead of going to the gym, yes I am that lazy. My wife asked me if I would like to go get a mani-pedi with her and my daughter, I was tempted but I took the hint and managed to inflict this on my body instead:
Dumbbell Front Raises- 45's x 5, 40's x 5, 35's x 5
Plank- 60 secs x 2 1/2
My boot is off for walking now, however I do not have clearance to squat or do anything really other than move with it, hopefully next week I will be allowed to put some pressure on it.

kp,
What is leg drive? Seriously I've never been able to do anything with them, in fact I will tape my next bench session, maybe you or someone else can explain to me what to do with my legs, right now they just sit there being pale and hairy.

You're asking me for bench advice? That's laughable. Actually, I have such a weak upper body that my legs do a lot of the work for me. I'm trying to think of who has great videos on here demoing leg drive . . . anyone?
I recorded the benching so someone could tell me whats wrong with my set-up and maybe how to get my legs involved. I will post the video on here today.
Good News: Va Appointment on Monday, I am now cleared to do leg stuff while once again "Listening to my body." Well near as I can tell my body says "Never Squat Again FatAss" So I will ignore it and listen to something else.
