Strong work James. I like all the higher rep sets. Feel the burn.

hey biggjames . . . how much stronger have you gotten on the big three since 2009. I just found this post, at first glance it looks like you got a lot stronger. what weight class are you in? Awesome lifts.

Hello Max8950,

Thanks for the kind words, but to tell you the truth I have gotten much weaker as I get older. I am way down from my best in the big 3. Now it is a struggle sometimes just to get my training in. LOL! Getting old sucks!

I am in the SHW and my weight hovers right around 330.

So thanks again,

James

Getting old does suck. But your 'way down from my best' numbers are higher than most will ever get to.

Finally! This last weekend I returned to the platform after an almost seven year lay off. I competed at the WABDL Rocky Mountain Regional BP and DL Championships in SLC, UT. I had a pretty decent day and went 5 for 6 in my lifts and I competed RAW as I always do.

BP: 3 for 3: 319.7, 374.8, 396.8 New MT State Record
DL: 2 for 3: 501.5 and 600.8 and another MT State Record. I had 617.3 to my knees and my grip gave, I have been fighting severe tendinitis in my left elbow and it is amazing that I could even bench and it has affected my deads.

Push/Pull Total: 997.6 New MT State Record: Very bummed, I did not get my last DL would have put me over my goal of 1000+.

Now for the Awesome news. My wife competed in her first BP and DL Meet and she had a great day going 7 for 8. WABDL allows 4th attempts for state records in regional meets.

Her numbers:
BP: 104.7, 115.7, 126.7 and she beat the press on her 4th at 132.3 but for her it was a win/win. She set the MT State records for her age and weight.
DL: 170.9, 203.9, 220.5, 231.5 also new MT State records.

Push/Pull total: 347.2 New MT State Records: All RAW!

This was huge for my wife considering that she has only been seriously training since about the middle of January and will be 50 in August. She has also had set backs with a gall bladder removal surgery, two ACL repairs and almost dying from a pulmonary embolism.
