Anyone who has done that type of work knows that it's much harder than it sounds.

Steve, is carrying the heavy items, specifically in the front, having any affect on your abs? When I lift and carry items in front of me I can get a pretty good stomach workout.

James,lifting/carrying stones may be my favorite workout. Sun on my face and wind across my bald head. Can't get that lifting in the basement.
Harry, the abs/obliques really get a workout. Now I need to throw in some cardio and calorie reduction so I can see them.

Or just get heavier stones and keep getting massive.

Bruce, cool you're carrying stones. Its a different kind of workout. I hope to get some stone lifting in this Saturday.
Harry, batwings are the last few inches of a row done with dbs. Very short range of motion. Dan John made them popular. Works the middle back most lifters miss when they cheat doing rows.
DDay,I did have a good weekend. Almost to good. I can't drink and stay up to 2:30am any more. Makes me want to eat a lot and not workout the rest of the weekend.

My left knee has been aching a lot lately. Trying glucosamine and chondroiton. Maybe losing some weight would help as well.

Steve, my joints have been achy as well. There is no doubt that it is weight in my case. My medium frame and all :) Seriously, though, I think losing weight is the biggest thing I can do to help mine. It is also the least pleasant, next to replacement surgery.
Always a pleasure to read your log. Great work, great variety, lots of fun.

Cleans squats bench and SLDL earned you a good feed, your wife was just looking out for you.
I use glucosamine for the joints.I had to be on it for a few weeks to notice the benefit.
Good luck with the knee. And keep up these awesome WO.

Great work as always Steve. Losing weight? Yuck. But I agree with the others that my joints definitely feel a bit better when I'm a few pounds lighter.

Bruce, thanks for telling me about your exp with glucosamine. My wife gives me too many good feeds.
James, one of these days I'll slim down. Not sure when thoguh.

sled drag
stone carry
I scored another odd object to carry. Its a triangle shaped piece of reinforced concrete. Around 2-2.5 feet tall and around 10 inches thick. Its at least 200 lbs and fun to carry. I can get a much better grip on it then a rounder stone. But it my bruises the heck out of my forearms. Looks like I've been beat.

way to stay primitive! your concrete triangle sounds like the steel 'shield' they use for strongman. maybe you can get some heavy duty knee sleeves but wear them on your forearms? or duct tape?

Are you saying I'm a caveman? Well you're right. That strongman shield thing is exactly what came to mind when I first saw my new concrete triangle.

1.cleans 135x3,155x2,175x1,195x1,225x1,255x0
2.hang clean 135x5,5,5
3.bench 135x10,185x5,225x2,275x1,315x1,365x1,405x1,315x3
First time I've benched 405 in quite awhile.
I've got to do more lighter, higher rep hang cleans. My cleans are weak pulling from waist to shoulders. Its emarassing I deadlift over 500 but can't clean 255.
