Nasty numbers in here!

Care to get together next Saturday the 17th with possibly Aragorn and train? I'm sure you two can come in to the strength club for free as long as I run it by our coach.

Pressing.

Had a review session so I only had time to do two movements but I really focused on being explosive and I feel it ended up being one of my better pressing days.

Bench: 315x5x4

Reverse grip pin press: 315x5x3

First time doing thibs reverse grip and I really liked them. They did hurt my wrist a little but I think that has to do with the inflammation and lack of flexibility in my forearm.

My review on Brain Candy:

I received my package on Tuesday which was awesome because I had a test Wednesday morning. The taste was different than I expected but not terrible by any means. I took it first thing after I got up then jumped in the shower. The caffeine kicked in with in ten minutes and made my sluggish morning a lot easier to get things going. I don't know if this was placebo but on my way to my first class I caught myself several humming several times which is something I never do. The test went really well and ended up with a strong A.

At this point I'm still not convinced of anything and won't let myself till the whole day is over. In my normal routine I head to the library and attempt to get things done before heading to work. Generally I have a really hard time getting myself to stop wasting time. With Brain Candy I seemed to have a desire to get things done as well as an even stronger desire to talk to people which is a big deal since I'm a huge introvert. So basically instead of wasting two hours and not getting anything done I wasted one hour and got a lot done. So far I like the product and will try to keep using it if it keeps my motivation to get things done up.

The are a couple down sides though. First is that since you have to take the whole shot at one. That means all 300 mg of caffeine is taken at once when I'm used to sipping my Spike throughout the day to keep a nice steady stimulant level. This could be solved with the caffeine free version and a Spike but this leads to the second problem which is cost.

I completely understand and appreciate Tim giving us the deal he does but sometimes even good deals are still out of reach. Especially if it means getting Brain Candy and Spike. Living on loans and low paying jobs while in school really limits what is attainable. I may have to get a second job bouncing on the weekends lol.

Overall well done Tim and the rest at Biotest. Your products always impress,

Overhead

Reverse grip pin press: worked up to 365 for a triple

Overhead pin: worked up to a double @ 295

At this point my arm was really irritated from yesterday's squat session. Sometimes the way I hold the squat bar makes my elbows tender the next day. Today it felt like my bicep was unresponsive so I had to call it before it got worse.

Pressing

Recently changed up my routine. MWF are all pressing and sticking to bench, overhead pin, then reverse grip bench from pins. Accessories after if i feel like it. My goal is to work on explosiveness first and not worry about hitting every corner of the gym. After two weeks of this my numbers are going up quickly and recovery seems decent so far.

Bench: 315x3x3 Peck was a little tight so I stayed there

Overhead pin: worked up with triples to a new triple max at 315lbs!

Reverse grip pin bench: hit 385 for an easy triple then 405 for a double. new max again!

Body weight dips for blood flow
