Ha... That wasnt even planned, just what happened to be on the screen during filming... Although when you're on T-Nation as much as I am, its bound to happen.

Thanks Thoughts, I'll keep you guys posted over the weekend, quite the group of competitors we are amassing at this site in the last few years. I hope to do you guys proud.

Thanks Ben! Now THAT is cool. Little Cody is having the time of his life getting to do that run! Couldn't be happier for the little guy.

This was mid way through the carb up, after the Epsom Salt bath (and a few Cadbury Creme Eggs)

I'm going to save the full set of comparison shots (Morning of carb up, night time, day of, and show pics) until Sunday so you get the full effect in one comparison.

Today is going well, just got back from tanning. Some very good builds in the room and some genuinely cool guys. No douche bags to be found in the group I was getting sprayed down with. Shaping up to be a heck of a show.

Mar. 13: Day 4: Deadlift Pattern.

4 x 8
A. Clean from hang. 125
B. Push Press. 105
C. Fr. Or Back Squats. BSq. 155

Contrast Set: 30 secs btw exer., 2 mins btw sets. 3 x 8.
D1. Top half DL from pins, just below knees. 4 x 8, 275
D2. DL: 4 x 8, 225 (These felt really explosive!)

Same weight all 4 weeks unless too easy.
E. Power Clean from Hang.
4 x 4, 135lbs.
Workout ended due to time, and glute (mostly healed injury), plus performance was losing explosiveness.

Just back from the show, here's a little run down:

The good:

- Final weigh in at the show was 156! Very low number, but it is was it is. I came in pretty damn shredded so that accounts for it a little bit... But the bottom line is I need more SIZE!

- My class, Light Weight Novice BBing was filled with great, enthusiastic, and supportive guys, and some great physiques. I am proud to say that out of 14, I came in 6th, and was arguably the most shredded guy in the division... Just lacking too much size to go against guys that were almost 20 pounds heavier.

- It was fun to have this deadline to really push myself to the limit for. If I was just "cutting" I probably would have stopped two or three weeks ago. This was a great motivator to push beyond my comfort zone and really strive to be the best I could. I can hold my head high knowing I did just that.

The Bad:

- While it was an interesting and fun experience... It really was't my cup of tea. It will be a long while before I decide to do it again, if ever. LOTS AND LOTS of hassle and money for very little "pay off."

- The prejudging was very unorganized. There was NOOOOO comparison round with Quarter turns and Mandatory poses. Instead they had each competitor do a 45 second "free posing" session to some crappy techno music, then called out 6 of us and asked for a few select poses to compare each other against. Very poorly executed in my opinion, who was expecting a more traditional approach to the competition and had prepared for such.

- Unfortunately, because the contest was so huge (330+ competitors between all the divisions) they only had the top 5 do their posing routines, Which means I did not even get to perform mine. Luckily I only have 1 friend come out so I didnt feel too bad, but I would have felt awful if my entire family/friends came out to not even watch me go out on stage at night... Ouch.

I will still be taking some shots tonight and filming my routine on a nice camera set up so that I have it to reflect upon and as a keepsake, so I will be posting those up here.

Heres a fun photo that shows the changes made from the morning of the carb up, mid carb up post bath, post tan, morning of show, post show

Weight basically stayed the same (158-159 depending on weigh in, food in stomach)

I do have the video from the Pre Judging of me kind of walking around trying to improvise a routine on the spot. I didnt want to just go with my night routine because they A - Didnt tell us how much time we would have on stage, and B - The music wasn't right for it and I "knew" I was going to record it later that night at finals (so much for that)

I'll film it tonight and get it up for anyone interested.

I wish it would have gone "as planned" so that I had all the usual contest stuff for you guys... But let this be a lesson that even high caliber events run by guys who do this all the time (the guy who runs it does 6 big shows every year) can have snags.

Going Forward:

-Alright, the show is over and its time to keep this train chugging along. No training on Sunday but I will be getting right back on the horse come Monday with CT's HPMass Indigo Hypertrophy program. I cant wait.

-Full dosing of INDIGO 3G starts tomorrow. I have 2 "cheat meals" planned(BBQ Day, so its just meat and potatoes really), so its as good a day as any!

- I will be following the "Fat Loss/Muscle Gain" protocol right out of the gate. 1 Scoop Anaconda, 3 Scoops MAG-10, 3 Scoops SWF. In addition to this, I will be "chasing" the extra volume as the weeks go from Base to Shock week with an extra scoop of SWF per workout on week 2, and either another scoop or a FINiBAR on Shock Week.

- I will be eating more rice/ MDrive Muscle growth with rice cakes as well. I will still keep 2 of my 4 post workout meals with the lower carb stuff for now.

So a day of eating will look like this:

-Peri Workout
-Post Meal 1 (MDrive Muscle Growth with rice cake)
-Post Meal 2 (Beef with Rice)
-Late Meal 1 (Beef with Avocado)
-Pre Bed (Either another beef/avocado, or Cottage Cheese and PButter, or Eggs)

I'll throw in the occasional "Chef Lonnie" meal, which will be just a basic variety of these themes, but thats about how I like to eat most of the time and it seems to work

- In order to bring up my lagging arms and back, I will be focusing all of my extra sled work there for now. 3-4 times a week, each session with some Peri Workout mix. I really have high hopes here because if I can bring those up it will really fill out my physique.

Fun Stuff: In addition, just because I'm weird, I'm going to be doing daily Body Temperature measurements, and weekly waking blood Glucose measurements. This is more for my curiosity than anything, but I have the things laying around the house and I figure what the hell? I wish I was doing to temperature stuff during the diet, but too late for that now.

As always, weekly Progress photos and weigh ins (with "love handle" girth checks) for your viewing enjoyment.

Any questions, comments, concerns, complaints, feel free to throw them my way.

You were in great shape. I'm sure you'll put on 20lbs lbm in the next two years. Great work Lonnie. You did something not many people have the determination, dedication, or drive to do. You are accomplished.

Thanks Stand Tall, I appreciate that.

Guys.. I just saw the rough versions of the professional photos I took, I think you are going to be BLOWN AWAY with them, I know I am. I should have them up this week. Wow, I'm really excited about these and to show them to you guys.

Last "fun shot" for the night, then I'm off for a good nights rest.

Heres a comparison of 8 weeks out vs. 2 days out. These shots do not do the shots I just took justice... I'm telling you guys, this photographer blew me away with these shots. Get your hopes up ;-)

* Sorry Hawaii Tunya, I know you are resident before/current "photo stitcher" - I'll let you do my 6 and 12 week Indigo Comparisons!*

Impressive work Lonnie. You were already a winner from all the hard work and dedication put in before the show. Well done.

Lonnie - you were indeed shredded. Way to put in the effort and look forward to eating and lifting to get biger. don't sweat yesterday.

It's important to not do better than yesterday, but to be better than you are today. The next few weeks I expect you to increase those calories just because you wont be able to find enough food and with the BB rebound, I imagine some great stuff from you.

Congrats on the contest, Lonnie! With that tan we can finally appreciate just how shredded you are! Great condition! Now it's time to add some muscle mass.

Lonnie, congrats on the placing!!

You did amazing!

I echo what Standtall said...... but I don't think it will take you 2 years to gain the 20lbs. I think you could gain half that in the first 90 days using Indigo.

I'm almost excited as you are too see where this takes you. Remember, you've achieved a level of conditioning that most of us will never have.... and this is BEFORE Indigo!
