Monday 5/6 (squat insanity day 6)
sumo deadlift 5x255, 5x275, 5x290
speed 10x1, 245
front squat 5x5, 95/105/115/125/135
by far the most fun day out of the squat insanity, which is needed going back into the first circuit tomorrow. I have more in me on the front squat, so things to look forward to there. Since I'm getting lots of the close stance work on the trap bar twice a week, I'm going to give sumo style a shot for a while and see how far I can get with it. I used the same training max for conventional deadlift and did not struggle at the 5's week percentages. The real test will be when things get over 315.
Speed sets actually felt faster than normal, so I might be onto something positive. Training conventional for the past year has definitely been good for my grip switching to sumo--the range of motion is so short that the fight feels like it's over before it even really gets started. There is a push-pull meet here in town mid-july, so I'll stay sumo until then to test it.

Squat insanity day 11 (Monday 5/13):
Close grip football bar bench 5x100, 5x110, 6x115, 5x10 (80lbs)
Push-pull row 3x10, 70lbs
1db row 3x5 (65, 65, 70)
Low box squat (12?) 5x2 (165, 175, 185, 195, 205). Used my new belt last two sets?still trying to break it in. I think it can easily do my old training max on its own.
Kind of an off day with deadlift, I?ll take it since I?ve squatted 12 of the last 14 days. Starting tomorrow, push-ups and bodyweight squats until I get back Sunday night.

Squat insanity day 13 (Monday 5/20):
Indigo-3G, Plazma
All sets 3x10, 1 minute rest
Squat, 175lbs
Trap Bar, 205
Gorilla Lunges, 30s
Front Squat ,100lbs
Moved up 5-10lbs on everything so with the last 5 days off, walking is going to be tough tomorrow, but I?m sort of looking forward to it, haha. I?ve had this awful sinus/allergy thing going on the past week, and being in Texas and getting on airplanes didn?t really help. Good news is that when I finished the circuit and had to blow my nose, my ears finally popped from last night?s plane flight?just goes to show that the circuit cures all ails.

Squat Insanity Day 15 (5/22)
Squat 5x185, 3x205, 11x230 (it was a mental grind today--I had to bargain with myself: "you can wear your belt if you go for a rep PR.")
I probably should have left the camera running just to catch myself nearly passing out trying to get my belt off. The combination of how stiff it is and the effort used in the rep PR would have been entertaining to see.
