Yeah dude this is fucking badass. Theres a vid in my log of this guy squatting without using his hands. Your form has to be awesome to do that. People like you make me feel like a lazy waste haha. Serious props to you.
Thanks but, I'm just a newbie trying to get bigger and stronger.

Thanks man. I just want to inspire others to do better. That's all I need for a compliment. Nothing more. You'll get unlazy I'm sure. It all just starts slowly.

I dont think you can call that a newbie even if your being modest. haha. When was that competition on the ship? Not gonna lie I had to google "french press." making me feel like a newbie. lol. By the way, my little gym doesnt even have a 155lb dumbbell. It must be nice having a gym like that. haha

and then up and behind the head of course :) Well like I said I would consider myself a beginner compared to a lot of people out there. The competition on the ship was about 1 month ago now, forgot you asked, mb

Welcome and awesome numbers. I'm "supposed" to be able to do 405X1 but, I'm kinda scared to try it. ;)
The squat is another PR. I'm happy with it but, I feel that I need to work on my lower back some more. It was really pumped and was kinda hurting after the last set. Luckily, thus far, it's not hurting anymore. I was still able to press and deadlift with no issues.
Press, I've repeated the 65lbs the last few times, I need to remember my magnetic fraction weights next time.
Deadlifts felt a little heavy, I've neglected doing them the last few workouts. I need to get back at it, I think that will help my squat (lower back) more.
Over all, I'm stoked. The weight is getting heavy on the 2nd set and really heavy on the 3rd set. I see some failures in the next couple weeks or I might wuss out and go fractional with 2.5lbs increments. *undecided* I guess I'll see when I get there. (FYI: I always post my last working set.)
Ill join in! Trained sporadically for a few years, going through a few months where i would workout and then a 6 month break. Been lifting hard for about the last 2 months with consistency. Currently 6'5 and 242ish, was in the mid 270's at one point but have lost some weight.
1rms now are
BP: 309/140kg
DL: 440/200kg
BS: 330/150kg
Nice work on the squats mrwhities, I feel you on the lower back pain. Screwed mine up (minorly) playing football freshman year of HS and it acts up every now and again, a real pain in the back (haha).

Welcome aboard.
You have some really good numbers there, keep it up.
I ABSOLUTELY did not want to squat today. Since Wednesday, my knees felt like they were bashed with a sledge hammer. Holy hell, I felt like I was 60+ years old (not knocking the geezers+) and hadn't worked out since I was born. I seriously think I'd rather take a shot in the nuts (like I usually do) by one of my big ass kids. (At least two knees a week or so - average.)
Started out nice and slow and literally was ready to go home after 7 minutes on the elliptical/slider/weird thing. It really helps warm my quads and hams up. So I head over to the squat cage (when I come into the gym, I head straight to it and set everything up so when I get done warming up, I can start my warm up squats.) and get under the bar. Just NOT feeling it. I squat down for my first warm up squats and aches and pains through all 5 reps. Damn it. My right knee is feeling like crap. I guess I'm not hitting 355lbs today.... :|
I muster up the courage to do all of my warm ups and see how I feel. The second (bar only) set felt pretty good. My right knee felt better/stronger. Good, maybe I could do 340lbs or so, at least 345 or 350. (Same as previous weight.) I go through all of my warm up sets and I'm feeling great. Screw it. I'm going to kill this 355lbs.
Let it be done....
Squat: 355X5X3
BP: 85X5X3
CU: 75X10X3
BE: 10X3
Everything was a cake walk after that. I didn't film it, I figure I'll hold off on that until I get to 405lbs or so. I figure everyone is getting tired of me posting videos of myself. :P

Thanks, the lower back REALLY felt them... :|
Thanks! Your squats are beastly, I hit 160kg tonight on mine which was awesome. Back not feeling great though, what do you do to keep yours loose?

No problem, thank you...
Ohh? Our backs are supposed to stay loose? haha I really don't do anything extra. I'm following the Starting Strength routine (intermediate right now). I don't stretch, get massages, or anything. Just squat, press/bench press, deadlift or whatever is scheduled that day. I don't think about working out until the next workout day.
335lbs for 2 sets of 5 without the MantaRay. Didn't video as I usually film my last set and I wasn't able to do my last set. I'll be doing 335lbs again tomorrow and I'll be sure to video it.
