It's been a hard 3 months!

Moved countries, moved house, built a shop and warehouse, built a website and getting back into the gym!

I'm stronger, not as lean but not put fat on.

The last 3 months have been about survival and not training. My new busines is set up and i'm back in routine not to mention i pretty much have unlimited supplements. Hopefully i'll have Biotest products on my site soon for speedy Uk delivery!

Interesting that your still big into supps considering you have cycled.

Both come hand in hand, i'm not prepared or willing to run another cycle just yet. So while i'm off cycle i think it's even more important to keep supplementation up!

Hi guys,

I ran a variation of this (working around equipment and injury issues), so I figured I should post the progress I made with it.

(Before - After)
Weight 255 ? 205
arms(L/R) 13 -13.25/13.5 - 13.5
chest 46 - 41.5
waist 44.875 - 37.75
thighs(L/R) (26.75/26.125) - 24.5 (guess I didn't record both on this)
calves (L/R)17.125 - 15.75/16 -15.25

Lifts
Squat/Dead ? Doesn't count because I was coming back from a knee injury at the start and I pulled a hamstring toward the end
Flat DB Press 50 x 10, 55 x 3 x 10 ? 50 x 4 x 12
Inc BB (after flat) 135 x 3 x 8 ? 115 x 3 x 8
3s dips 100 lbs assisted 3 x 3 ? 3 x 3 unassisted (though, I'm 50 lighter)
Lat pull 100 x 2 x 12, 105 x 12 ? 110 x 12, 120 x 2 x 12
bb shrug 135 x 3 x 15 ? 115 x 2 x 15, 120 x 15
Inc DB 45 x 2 x 10, 50 x 2 x 10 ? 50 x 4 x 10
DB press 45 x 10, 50 x 8 ? 40, 45 x 10
DB SLDL 60,65, 70 x 10 ? 60 x 3 x 12

A little bit of apples and oranges, but you get the idea. So, I lost about 50. From what I could calculate from online calculators, about 10 of that was muscle (based on measurement changes). I lost strength on some lifts and gained on others.

Mistakes I made along the way
-Not measuring: I stopped about halfway through.... this came back to haunt me w/ PW carbs (which I measure now)
-Pushing through feeling lousy. I was draggin ass for a few weeks, but stayed consistent. I probably should have dialed back on the HIIT and gym time a bit to recover
-Getting injured: I was too upright during a sprint and pulled a hamstring. In trying to rehab it, I think I hurt my piriformis
-Rest times: Coming from more intensity and longer rests, these work outs took a long time to complete. I think significantly cutting my rest time helped me be more excited about it along with all the other benefits
-When I would stall toward the end, I relied on cutting carbs instead of increasing HIIT to save time
-Not walking: While not having a direct effect on the rate of loss, I felt it helped in prolonging stalls
-Vegetables: I was hardly ever hungry, so it was easy to neglect vegetables. Once again, I think these help prolong stalls

Things I'm not sold on
-Supplements: I never felt fish oil doing anything. BCAAs I only felt if I was really dragging ass or had been off them for a while. Vitamin D and Multi-V? Maybe it helped, maybe not
-Volume: I don't enjoy this type of training.
-Long Skiploading: I had to reduce my time as I got leaner, which is odd. Perhaps the body gets used to it and its effectiveness fades. At this point, a 5 hour load will take me a week to recover from. I find I can get a lot of the effect from a 1 hour load. Also, I felt I developed a minor addiction to it and I'd be craving it all week. I don't get this with smaller loads

Main takeaways
-I can eyeball many foods and have an idea of the macro breakdown
-How to eat carbs better. Prior to this, I'd have a couple cups of oatmeal in the AM and that'd be it.
-PWO nutrition/carbs
-ELEL/EMEM ? I didn't start cycling this until towards the end, but as soon as I did, I felt better, felt like I had more time, and the losses resumed. When I began an EMEM cycle, my hunger would shoot up and my weight would drop

I'm currently reverse dieting off... keeping the same routine until I see strength start coming back. Basic approach is 1 hour refeed at the end of the week. Once my weight resumes, I increase carbs and fat 5 percent.

I'm not sure anyone feels fish oil working, it's mostly for joint health isn't it?

Yeah. You may feel less achy. You can definitely feel the fish oil burps though.
