@JP: Most Whole Foods carry Kerrygold as well, that's where I usually buy it.
@DrDan: You eat 100% pure chocolate? That must be amazingly bitter, right?
Yup, it's super bitter. It'll put hair on your chest. But I don't eat it for taste...I eat it for all the antioxidants :)

Hey dan good stuff going on i see,you have it dialed in for sure.I was wondering what your eats and layout of supps. etc are looking like if you get the time to post it.I have to start ordering Kerrygold as well since my local kroger stopped carrying it.Sucks having to order butter.I see you dropped the honey, that stuff and p/butter are like crack in pantry for me.I push those two way back and put my coconut oil, sauces etc in front so i can't see those little devils or they start calling for me haha.
Yeah nut butters are the devil. I actually eliminated them from my diet because I have issues controlling myself recently lol. Check with your Kroger's manager because they may be able to order the Kerrygold for you. My Safeway doesn't carry it but they were able to order it for me. Turns out it's cheaper through them than it is anywhere online AND I don't pay for shipping.
DIET
I follow Mountain Dog principles except I don't get "special" eggs or chicken breasts although I do get my eggs straight from the farmer (unwashed gross haha) and the yolks are actually orange and not yellow...they taste way better than "normal" eggs. Below is my current diet. I use 3 scoops PLAZMA on leg days and back day if deadlifts are performed, and 2 scoops on all other training days. I also eat 1-2 Finibars 60minutes preWO on leg days. Weights for meat is cooked weight while all other measurements (i.e. rice) are dry/uncooked measurements.
3:45AM- 2 scoops MAG-10
4:25- 6 Indigo
4:55- drink 1 scoop/serving PLAZMA
5:10-5:45- drink 1-2 scoops/servings PLAZMA
5:10-6:30 Training Session
6:45- 2 scoops MAG-10
7:30- 7oz chicken breasts or protein powder (60g protein from whey isolate and casein), 1/2c Jasmine Rice, 2 eggs, 1c broccoli
12:00- 6-7oz chicken breasts, 1/4c brown rice, 1T extra virgin coconut oil, 1c broccoli
6:00- 3 eggs, 1T Kerrygold butter or guacomole (2-3oz avocado mashed with Frank's Red Hot)...best meal of the day :)
8:00- protein powder pudding/shake (1 scoop casein or 1/2 casein + 1/2 whey), 3 fish oil
Sometimes I don't have enough time to chew 7oz chicken postWO before going to work so I gulp down the protein powder instead. If I have 1/4 square cocoa (4g fat) it's chopped up into the 8:00 pudding/shake.
On non-training days, I do HIIT cardio (sprints or stationary bike...20sec all out and 40 seconds easy) with Mag10 pre/intraWO, Sled/Prowler Leg Protocol with 2 scoops MAG-10 pre/intraWO, or fasted cardio walking. I feel that walking is very relaxing and that it's important to exercise using your parasympathetic nervous system instead of always stimulating your sympathetic. Diet on these non-training days is less carby...only carbs are 4-6 prunes soaked in EVOO at noon and 75g carbs from rice in the evening after taking 6 Indigo.
SUPPLEMENTS
-Alpha Male 2 upon waking and 2 30 minutes before lunch. I started this about 10 days ago.
-Indigo 6 caps preWO
-preWO stimulant (I can't mention brand name on here)
-Iodorol (12.5mg tablet) 1/2 tablet upon waking and 1/2 tablet at noon. I started this about 10 days ago.
-5g creatine postWO
-1-2g Vitamin C postWO
-2,000IU Vitamin D postWO
-3 Fish oil (providing 1g EPA and 1g DHA) before bed

Hey thanks for the detailed write up dan.The egg thing that's funny i get mine from a farmer as well, still has hay and grass on them haha.I'll check with my local kroger about the butter,Rhod said whole foods as well but i don't get around to that store that much.Looking foreword to how the iodine works for you.I used it for about a month cause of the low body temps in the morning and they increased pretty quick.I actually have forgotten to take lately and i'm still running warmer.I think i'm going to hold off to see if that changes or not. Also you are right about the fasted walks.I do them every morning with my weighted vest.

Great writeup DrDan, love it. I'm going to start taking iodine supplementation soon too since my body temp is never above 97 when I wake up.
Can't believe you can make it from 12 til 6 without any pulses/snacks, I'd be on the verge of starvation!

10 days left until I reach the end of the first 12-week training cycle of the Reactive Pump Training program. I will post some pictures and body stats at that time! Things are coming along nicely. More to come...

So I've been using Iodoral (12.5mg) for the past 6 weeks or so in an attempt to get my low body temperature up into the normal range. Well I checked my temperature again this morning and this evening:
6:15 am (upon waking) - 3 readings that averaged 96.6 (basically no improvement with iodine supplementation over the last 6 weeks or so)
5:15 pm - 95.7 and 95.8
WTF is going on? My body temp decreased throughout the day.
This week is an off week for me. I'm just walking in the mornings and not lifting at all this week, so no physical stress. Calories have been very low the last 5 days other than a big carb cheat meal Sunday at Perkins and getting drunk Saturday night. I haven't been hungry the past 3 days, though, so it's not like I'm starving.
There isn't a normal reason why my body temp would decrease throughout the day and be so low at 5pm, right. Any thoughts?

Wow that is really low, have you tried doubling the dose of iodoral?
I don't get past 97.2 but I've only been on it for a week or so. Your temperatures seem very low though, while you don't seem to have a very slow metabolism (judging by rippedness).

Dan I saw your question In the JM thread where sput, deadlift and myself were going back and fourth about foods, body temps etc.I'm kinda stumped on your problem. How's your selenium intake.I take elite pro mineral and just a short time ago started adding In some brazil nuts with dinner as well.It has been just a short time but this seemed to raise my body temps when I started checking It In the 4-6pm time.
Brazil nuts have a good amount of selenium In them and I read somewhere that they were good for the thyroid.I've been busy lately but I'm going to do some searching and see what other tips I can find.

Thanks jppage. I haven't taken a multivitamin in over a year and I don't eat many selenium-containing foods. I went to buy some Brazil nuts at the local grocery stores last night and struck out. So I looked online and found some but, dang, those are expensive nuts! Where do you buy yours? Will you stay on this supplementation (Brazil nuts and Elite Pro Minerals) for the long haul or do you think your body temp will stay up after a few weeks of selenium supplementation?

Dan, if you have a Giant Eagle they carry Brazil nuts, at least mine does. Depending on how your Giant Eagle is set up they have a little section with nothing but nuts and its in the vegetable section. Its the Giant Eagle brand, their farmers market brand, it was like $4 something for an 8oz package.

Dan I'm going to stick to this plan for the long haul.To many benefits with elite pro and brazil nuts as far as I'm concerned. Some other things that I read several times over on different site's that are very good for the thyroid are:magnesium-zinc-B vitamins.Raw ginger root as well.I take all of these.I bought my brazil nuts at my local meijer grocery store.I have them every night before my main meal.
I feel I'm forgetting some things that I wanted to tell ya But I'll cut It off here and throw In some other details when they come to me.In the mean time throw up any questions you think of Dan.

Dan also a lack of B vitamins can make you anemic as well and that can have an effect on low body temps.I had a problem with this myself and decided to not take iron tabs and bump up my B-vitamins and thats when I started with elite pro as well. This was almost a year ago when I started this but I feel It's worth a mention cause I do believe this has made a difference along with the more recent things that I have been doing.I also take extra zinc up and above what is in elite pro as well.I have believe that when your very active(lifting, work)etc and being lean as well your body depletes itself of some of the most important vitamins etc and even more so in the peeps that push to hard at times(myself included). These are just my thoughts on the matter but like yourself I'm pretty In tune with my body and can tell differences In doing these things In the way I feel and the changes I've seen in my rising temps.
