5 weeks out for competition. Still working on leaning a ton more but here is where I stand. Looking for feedback, realize this isn't all the mandatory's but what I could get at this time.

I would say that you are behind schedule, conditioning-wise and as has been said, your legs are lagging.

But good luck anyway. Is this your first show and are you doing it blind or is someone prepping you?

I did my first show blind and it was a wakeup call. You need to get as lean as you think you need - then lean out much more.

Yes first show, still 5 weeks to go so there is room for improvement. Thanks for the feedback!

This about sums it up for every competitor. Considering this is your first show, you're looking lean,.. not contest lean yet, but depending on these next 5 weeks, you'll either bring it in, or be the 'lean' guy who places in the middle of the pack but has nothing to be ashamed of either.

Keep updating, and good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I tend to hold water in my upper legs, any advice for thinning this region out? I've upped my cardio to 4 sessions per week to try and get that down.

Unless you're on a ton of PEDs, you're not holding 'water', you're just not lean enough yet. My legs lag behind my upper body when I diet as well, it's pretty common. Just keep driving hard, and once the bf levels get stupidly low, your skin will appear to thin-out.

Your first contest is always going to be one of the biggest learning curves you will ever take in your bodybuilding career... just a couple of things to remember, when your properly and fully tanned and under spot lights you will look even better. As best as you can you want to be tanned as early as possible and make sure that where your practicing your posing you have lighting that will simulate the stage lighting at your comp.

Bodybuilding is all about perception and illusion. Arnold won many competitions including his come back Olympia title when he was not the best physique on stage. Attitude, posing savvy, stage presence and self confidence are just some of the other attributes you need at competition time.

All the best for your comp and just be sure to use it as a learning experience and no matter how your fare be sure to take away any information gained during the comp to allow you to continually work on your physique weather or not you compete again.

Your ultimate physique is always a work in progress...
