Well I ate heavily but cleanly over the last month to try and build some more mass before I start dieting again for the next competition in October. I am in much better shape to start with this time so i think I should do a lot better this time. The below pic is a comparison of week 1 in Feb and week 1 now. Proof you can still build muscle mass though in a calorie deficit. In the last 5 months only 1 would have been in surplus.

Don't know if anyone is reading this but it's a good record for myself :)

Thanks guys, I've never liked my abs, the right side is pretty skewiff but that's genetics for you.

2 weeks (out of 14) into the competition diet now. Keeping my calories highish (2500-2700) but doing 30 minutes low intensity cardio after my workouts.

a bit of difference since my last photo two weeks ago so heading in the right direction.

and the back. Been doing a lot more heavy rowing movements in the last 6-8 weeks which has made a bit of a difference

You look like you have more definition already.

Your back does seem more defined up top but I can't decide if it got bigger or you just lost more weight.

Keep up the good work and good luck in the competition!

Not sure if this is motivating or depressing. Had about 8 months off training due to work commitments, getting married, moving house, restoring a motorbike, being a lazy mofo and generally drinking too much and eating junk.

I'm back up to about 195 pounds as opposed to around 175 when I competed.

On the plus side I am about 3 weeks back into training 5 days a week and haven't touched alcohol in almost 2 months.

I'll get a new progress pic again tonight and start the process over again. That pic from this time last year makes me feel small and fat now :(

The good thing, is that you got back in the gym.
Good for you on quitting the booze.

Keep it up

Holy hell, I can't believe it's been about 3 years since I first decided posted this. I have yo'yo'ed like a mofo in that time.

Ballooned back out in late 2012 (First pic), then trained hard again mid last year (second pic).

Relapsed into my horrible boozy, smokey alter ego after a bit of a breakdown mid to late last year but dragged my ass back out of the gutter and I'm ready to start again.

Lets see how we go this time.
