I almost had a nerdgasm when Aang and all the past Avatars showed up and when Korra avatar-ed.

Any news on when Book 2 is coming out?

I really can't wait to see what Korra is capable of now that she can enter the Avatar state at will.

I have a feeling the first few episodes is going to be about a long queue of ex-benders lining up for some Avatar restoration.

Sometime in 2013

She cant enter it at will. She can energy bend, big difference. She still has to master airbending, then go through the whole unlocking the 7 chakra business.

No she's a full fledged Avatar now.

A fully fledged avatar has his/her eyes glow for a brief moment when he goes avatar state. Korra's eyes stayed glowy during her little bending exhibition.

You've just been outnerded.

I haven't been watching. A fully realized Avatar also can speak in his/her Avatar state. Did Korra speak?

Nah dude it's why Tenzin called her "Avatar Korra" at the end.

That doesnt mean anything. They called Aang "Avatar Aang" before the series ended and became fully realized. They called Roku "Avatar Roku" before he was fully realized. People were calling Korra "Avatar Korra" the entire series.

Its a bullshit copout to try and say she is fully realized already. To reach that point requires tons of work and serious sacrifice. Korra has the potential to get there, but she is not there yet. She still has yet to unlock the 7 chakra, which the series thus far has pointed at being a serious and difficult process.

She can barely airbend and she can energy bend. Still has work to go before becoming fully realized.

That was my big gripe with this season. It's a copout but it's what the writers did. Korra is a fully realized Avatar, as dumb and rushed as it is. http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/K...
Tenzin saying Avatar Korra was symbolic as he never called her Avatar Korra until the moment that she became a fully realized avatar. What was worse was the "I love you Korra" garbage from Mako. The finale really let me down.

It just sounds so rushed. I miss the journey lol although I do think the writers deserve a chance to show us where they intend to take the story from here. Just another reminder that it is not the same show.

Yeah I just hated that they made Amon a chicken, he was so bad ass before the finale.

If Firelord/Pheonix King Ozai shat himself against a fully realized Aang, that doesn't surprise me.

LOL the fact that they rushed it that bad just makes be say fuck Korra's story and I am not going to count this season as a part of Avatar.

So much for the life of the avatar being a long journey and process toward full realization. Just pro bend for a bit, get your ass kicked by another bender, and then BOOM. AVATAR.

My roommate said he looked it up on wiki and there's only going to be one more season. Just 2 short seasons. What was the point again?

I liked the finale, although I'll recognize that it did seem rushed and it was a little bit of a cop-out to me for her to lose her bending (except for air, which I'm guessing she didn't lose because she hadn't developed the ability to use it at that point) then be all upset about it and THAT is the point when Aang and the other previous avatars come to visit her and unlock her avatar state. So miraculously, not only does she have all her bending back again, but she can also bring other people's bending back.

Amon was crazy powerful, though, for the short time he showed off his blood-bending. I thought that aspect of the story was pretty good, with the 2 brothers and how they were raised to take their father's revenge and such.

It can go more seasons, but it's Nickelodeons call not the creators.

Soooo everyone is aware that this was originally supposed to be a one shot 12 episode series right? Nickelodeon forced the creaters/writers to stretch it out to 26ep (2 season) Series. So if this season seems a little half baked near the end its because that the decision to stretch it to two episodes was passed down after they started animating the first couple episodes.

I think we should wait and see how next season turns out since they'll have the appropriate time to flesh out the story.

In that case, I hope season 2 is better for 2 reasons. 1. because it would be more entertaining and 2. because it would be more likely that Nickelodeon will keep it going after the second season. They can still do a lot with the story.

I'm still not convinced she's supposed to be fully realized (if it explains beyond the shadow of a doubt in that link, then my mistake, the link didn't work on my work computer) because Tenzin finally called her that. It could just mean he acknowledges her official potential to become fully realized whereas before he had doubts because of her inability to learn air bending.

With that being said, plenty of new seasons could have been written about Aang as a fully realized Avatar and his exploits. So maybe they are going to attempt to do that with Korra in the next season. Have a show that is more about what the avatar does after becoming one, instead of being about the journey leading up to becoming one.
