Awesome - i think hot chicks and jeeps are relevant to the discussion, no?

I don't think these shoes match the bikinis. Is anyone else bothered by this?

Actually: the shoes pick up the neutral color in each corresponding bikini (black or white), and coordinate perfectly well.

White is not neutral, particularly when paired as an accent with red. It's meant to "pop." They may coordinate if by "coordinate" we mean "have some relationship to a color found in the respective suit," but personally I have a higher standard.

Jeep, bikini, and sky-high heels; and the shoe color needs to be subdued? This would be easier to believe if the bikini were replaced by a conservatively-cut dress in the same color scheme, and the heels were a little bit lower.

Subtle, pleasing, and higher heels.

Right, what's hard to believe is not that the shoe/other-clothing colors combination _can_ be more subtle. What's hard to believe is that there is any point in the color scheme being more subtle, considering the combination of minimal clothing with high heels.

I know this is not quite the same thing, but I think it might get my point across. Suppose somebody were to post a picture of a man wearing a black speedo with white piping, and a white cowboy hat. Then somebody else points out that the cowboy hat doesn't really go with the speedo, and shows a picture of how much more subtle and tasteful the color combination is with another man wearing a white speedo with a mostly gray cowboy hat. Sure, the color combination is more subtle and tasteful, but the subtlety and tastefulness of the color scheme seems superfluous considering the combination of items being worn.

And let's not actually post those, btw.

undoredo, I think you may be taking me more seriously than I am taking the subject. The "is anyone else bothered by this" was a joke.

But to respond to your speedo/cowboy hat scenario, I would not find it appealing and I would absolutely notice any awkwardness in the outfit. Despite it being superfluous.

I kind of figured it wasn't really bothering you. But I decided to respond with my thoughts on the matter just for the hell of it.

Well, I still think of cherry pie when you post, complicated or not.
