Day 19 & 20

A temporary hiatus on the shake diet is required. I have IBS, and even with the fiber tabs.... my intestines were not feeling great. So, the past two days I have been eating whole food. This has helped relieve the discomfort. I am keeping below 2000 calories, though. I will make daily reassessments to determine whether a return to the v-diet is warranted. I foresee being able to resume the v-diet within 2 days, given my gastro progress thus far. When I resume, I will treat that first day as the day after a HSM. So, 6 days of shake + natty PB, then a HSM on the 7th day. The 7th day is when I will give my measurements.

The results that I have gotten while on the v-diet have been great. It has been a good learning experience. But, I think if I attempt this diet a second time.... I might try incorporating more HSMs to avoid my current predicament. Not that everyone should go about the diet in this fashion, I just want to keep as many tenets of the v-diet as possible while being flexible enough to accommodate my situation.

Side note: My symptoms have actually improved on the v-diet. However, there was an unexpected consequence to that.

Chris calls that V-Diet light... there is nothing wrong with doing that!! You probably won't get the same end results, but at the same time, I think you will probably still be able to get some of the habit breaking benefits from the diet. I know it has helped me with some of my eating issues! I hope that you don't have any further issues, because being sick in anyway sucks!!!

I am actually thinking of doing V-Diet light for a few weeks after transition... or maybe just staying in transition phase for a longer period of time. I unlike many, don't think the shakes are too sweet, and I find them convenient to use during the day... I will see how I feel at the end of this next phase!!

Alright, stepping back into the v-diet today. I will start with half of my caloric intake being shakes and the other half being real food. So, ~1800 cal in total (excluding Surge). I am going to see how this works for a few days. Then, I'll try to ramp up the proportion of my meals that are shakes. I would at least like to get to the point where I am having 1 HSM per day with rest of my meals being shakes. It's a modified version, but hopefully it will be fairly effective.
