Day 1
Yesterday was day 1. My shakes were on point, but I didn't get the NEPA in. A migraine sneaked up on me in the evening when I planned to do the NEPA. Hopefully, the migraine will go away soon.

Day 2
Shakes: Check
Workout: Check
NEPA: Check
Starting to feel the effects of not having solid food. Most any solid food is looking pretty appetizing at this point. I am greatly looking forward to my HSM on Thursday. Was originally thinking chicken... but might go with shrimp.

I have found that as long as I keep my schedule, hunger and food desires have not been an issue. I will say this.... my first (and only, so far) HSM was at an Indian restaurant, and i was nearly drooling by the time I got to eat, and my stomach was growling. Anticipation is amazing, as a friend and an enemy. I try not to think about it, concentrate on the workout and getting the meals timed reasonably well.
It gets easier, stay on target.... you're going to kill it.

Day 3
Shakes: Check
NEPA: Check
Starting to look forward to eating the fiber tablet. My wife thought that was hilarious and made fun of me by prophesying that soon I will be doing the same thing to toilet paper, but I died a little inside when I realized it. Looks like I will have to go back to the Wife Store and exchange her for a new one. Hopefully I have kept the receipt.

Though I find it tempting at times (esp when she's right), moving to wife 2.0 may cause you to lose more weight than you bargained for (1/2 your shit rule)...
oh and mmmmmmmm toilet paper, good idea.

Yeah.... those fiber tablets are good.
I don't know if your diet has the natural nut butter requirement for the bedtime shake, but I eat mine off of a spoon instead of mixing it. It is more satisfying that way and I really look forward to it. Especially crunchy peanut butter. It may also be possible to eat actual nuts, but maybe some of the other V-dieters can chime in as to whether or not this is legal.
Just ideas.... to stave off the desire to eat toilet paper, feminine napkins, etc.
And Zorn... that was hilarious.

well if you eat the toilet paper, perhaps you will no longer have the added task of needing to wipe with it. perhaps saving yourself seconds in the restroom...

good job so far! once the results start coming in, your not gonna want to eat anything. seeing the numbers drop on the scale every time you step on it gets addicting. makes 100% adherence really easy. though i started eating the peanut butter in week 4, i would say that you should mix it into the shakes for the first few weeks. gotta break those food addictions! thats one of the most powerful aspects of this diet.

Day 4
Shakes: Not so much (missed last shake due to "resting my eyes" turning into 8 hrs of sleep)
NEPA: Check
Missing that last shake was not so great. It was a 3 scooper+PB. Needless to say, I had to go to class the next morning feeling like hell. I'm posting these a day behind (day 4 is being posted as I am going through day 5), so I get the benefit of perspective. I will not be forgetting a shake anytime soon... no matter how tired I may think I am. My cost-benefit analysis supports this.

Once I fell asleep before eating the peanut butter..... I really missed it in the morning.
Keep up the conviction.

Day 6
Shakes: Check
Workout: Check
NEPA: Check
Starting to dislike the taste of the shakes. I don't have a problem drinking them, though. I guess this just happens when you eat the same thing for 6 days. Kind of like when you eat thanksgiving leftovers for 3 days straight... it doesn't taste bad.... just unpalatable.

if you have vanilla add some different extracts or spices. I actually really like adding cinnamon and nutmeg and some vanilla or almond extract... Lemon extract is good too:)

I guess I got over the lack of diversity. I am even eating only one flavor MD (chocolate). I just can't take the other ones. You should basically be able to turn the vanilla into anything though..... including apple pie. I can't believe you're at the end of your first week..... seems like you started yesterday.

Day 7
Shakes: Check
NEPA: Missed it :(
Measurements (taken on Day 8):
Weight: 251.6 -11.2
Neck: 18 same
Upper Chest: 46.5 -1
Lower Chest: 44 -1
Navel: 45 -1.5
Waist: 43 -1
Upper Arm L: 16------]
Upper Arm R: 16.5 ]
Upper Leg L: 27.5 ]
Upper Leg R: 27 ]---- Same or <.25 difference
Lower Leg L: 16 ]
Lower Leg R: 15.5----]
I understand that a good chunk of the weight loss is water, but it is still very encouraging nonetheless. The circumference of my waist is also shrinking. Always good when you can go down another notch on your belt.

Way to keep it up. Take your victories no matter how you get them. (listen to me, I belittle my own achievements in every post.)

Wow, busy last few days.
Day 9-13
Everything went well. I only missed some NEPA. Still thinking about solid food. But, I am about half-way through, so there's just 2 more weeks until the transition meals. Chili sounds good. Well, damn near everything sounds good. Beef + Beans + Tomato Juice + Chili Powder + Jalapenos = Heaven. So far, this diet has been a good lesson on self-control.

Pretty busy... keep forgetting to update.
Day 14
Weight: 248.0 -3.6
Belt: Down another notch
Didn't get the rest of the measurements.
HSM = Chicken
Day 15-18
Everything has stayed on track... time is just flying by on this diet. I thought it would be more torturous. I assumed that I would need all of my cognitive abilities and willpower to succeed. The diet really isn't that bad. I have been thinking about incorporating future stints of heavy shake consumption into my diet plans. I think it is a lot easier to have super strict days if those days are made up primarily of shakes.

Good work, Blake. I hear you on the shakes being unpalatable. They don't taste bad, but even with 3 flavors (I skipped the berry), it does get repetitive. That said, I just chug them down and get on with my day.
Re: nut butter, I put the two tbsp in my shake and then lick the spoon. :)
