I am SO disappointed. It's happened again! I was hoping that I wouldn't get this weird reaction to losing weight so fast, but here I am again.

Hives (or urticaria) have taken over my back. I wish I knew what the hell this is. Fortunately or unfortunately, this has happened before during a fat loss / cutting type of diet, so I know it's not the V-Diet(ish) SPECIFICALLY. But I'm posting just for other people's general information.

Even my doctors can't figure out what the hell it is. Some naturopathic guru in my town thinks that I have "toxins" stored in my fat. So, when I lose fat weight, the toxins disperse causing an allergic reaction. Some people have suggesting it's a candida thing, too, but that's shown not to be an issue. I don't know what to believe, however, it's now time to stop the V-Diet, slow down the weight loss and start popping antihistamines.

I'm going to try to do a V-Lite diet by using the Metabolic Drive to replace two meals a day and see what happens. I know it's nothing in the M.D. that I'm allergic to. Apparently, I'm allowed to gain weight by even THINKING about bad food. . .I'm not allowed to lose it as quickly.

Super bummed that I have to slow this down. I was 127 yesterday when I woke up. :(

I too have heard the "toxins released from fat stores" thing, but honestly I don't know much about it. Have you sought the advice of a D.O.? I trust them more than straight M.D.s generally.

Thanks, Chris! I feel so silly, but I had to look up what a D.O. was! Ha ha ha! Learn something new every day, right? I have not, in fact, seen a D.O. and am putting out calls to friends right now requesting referrals for one. I'll update this post if I find anything new. Another friend of mine, on the phone this morning, was telling me that sometimes, rapid fat loss causes something called mast-cell degeneration or something like that.

She said that this triggers a histamine reaction, thus the hives. I'm going to pop some Benadryl and move forward with a V-lite. :) I'm so disappointed because it was really encouraging to see the numbers drop that fast. I really wish I could've hung in there for the next two weeks.

That being said, I was really pleased with the results over the course of 10 days on the diet. I am down below 130, which is what I really wanted. My desire for crap food has all but disappeared and my cravings have all been for food that fall within the "HSM" range. So, I think I'll still see some weight loss. Maybe just not quite so rapid. Thanks a million!

you may try adding some vitamin C and drinking green tea, make sure to drink plenty of water (you may want to add a bit of lemon or apple cider vinegar to the water, not a lot maybe a tablespoon or two per glass)
