Chris,

I'm doing very well following the diet and finishing up week 3. I am interested in doing a pulse fast during week 4 or the transition week. Which do you think is a better way to go, week 4, transition or once I finish?

Either way would work. Doing it in the final week, no more than twice in a 7 day period, would certainly ramp up that final V-week.

But one of the cool things about Pulse Fasting is the effect you get the day AFTER when you re-feed a bit and add carbs. That wouldn't happen on the V-Diet really, unless you did it before an HSM day. Still, it has multiple benefits.

what does adding carbs the days after the pulse fast do?

See Pulse Fast article. Nice rebound effect, like enhanced carb cycling.

i understand the rebound, ive read the article. i looked through the article again and it didnt say anything about carbs. maybe i missed something.

should i go over 100g of carbs the day after?

maybe in the form of additional workout fuel during the lift? (im only using 1 scoop right now)

a lot of low carb diets have a carb up every once in a while, i havnt had more than 125g of carbs in any day for the past 7 weeks. would pulse fasting then having a carb up day with a big workout be a good idea?

Yes, but keep the carbs very clean - no wheat. Increasing workout nutrition is an easy way to do that and insures those carbs will be put to work.

Chris,

When you do your Pulse Fast on non-workout days do you skip taking the GPC shot? Just curious if I should only take it on workout days. I'm planning on doing my first one on a non-workout day and was just curious. Thanks.

Yes, at least one, but you can skip it if you want to save up the GPC.
