Getting towards the end of the year and thought it would be a good time to start up the goals thread for 2012.
What are your goals for 2012?
Looking back at my goals for last year.....
To squat 500 completely legit. No question on depth, form and etc
To deadlift 600
To get my upper body noticibly bigger, wider shoulders and bigger arms in particular.
To get leaner.
And to stay injury free.
I didn't meet all of them, but my squat is much better than it was at this time last year and i am much bigger as well although not all of it is lean. I also managed for the most part to stay mostly injury free aside from this past october. I fell far short of my deadlift goal and my goal for overall leaness changed shortly after i put that down last year. I will be going for the 500lb squat this sunday.
So my goals for 2012 are...
To squat 600 raw, 700 in gear. about 100lbs away from both
To get that 600lb deadlift. about 80lbs away from here.
To get my bench above 350 and avoid shoulder injuries. about 15lbs away

GOALS
Goals are extremely important for success IMO.
I believe its better to shoot for higher than aim lower.
WEIGHTLIFTING GOALS FOR 2012
[ ] Compete in my first PL meet
[ ] Receive a raw total elite in a PL comp. Preferably my first one Feb 26,2012
[ ] Stay Injury free
[ ] Bench in mid 400's
[ ] Squat 600 for reps
[ ] DL in the mid 600 range/ hit 600 pull x 2
I think these are all very achievable as long as my right shoulder stays healthy. Hopefully Animal Flex will help with that. Hopefully I can come back here during the summer and have to re-edit these goals for higher!

Last Year my goals were:
Bench - 125 lb dumbbells current max has been 85 lb dumbbells
Squat - 300 lbs at depth for 8 and 1 rep max of 350
Deadlift - 500 lbs
End result:
Bench - I gave up on the whole DB thing and despite the Bar being harder for me if I'm ever going to compete I'll have to learn it. Got 250 with Bar which I'm very happy with
Squat - Got 355 for 1, don't know if I ever tried the 300 reps
Deadlift - 510
This year my goals are (raw):
Bench - 315
Squat - 420
Deadlift - 600
I'm really hoping to hit the Squat and Deadlift goals around summer and then I might start considering briefs.

Bodybuilding goals
Primarily To be lean at 250lbs+ currently about 260+ and not so lean ( visible abs or at least an outline is the aim)
Bigger legs, shoulders and traps
Strength goals ? increase my 1RMs
MILITARY PRESS
120kg (105kg currently) never focused on this but I will this year shit it may even help me reach my bench goal.
DEADLIFT
Another 20kg plate on each side of my current deadlift (320kg) so 360+ that?s going to be a challenge but I have never plateau on this lift yet so I think it?s doable.
BENCH
230kg (500lbs+) bench press. This will be the most challenging but my technique needs work and If I can learn how to use the leg drive properly I?m sure it would help loads. Going to incorporate some bands this year.
SQUAT
Got to test my current squat first and edit this later
Olympic lifts
Power Clean 140kg+
Power snatch 110kg+
Miscellaneous
Improve my general fitness/conditioning
Work my Olympic lifts clean 140kg+

deffinitely want a 600 squat which wont be too bad, would also like a 450 bench, and a mid 600 pull. I think if i get to my goal weight (265) these numbers will come fast because my leverages will be quite a bit better

Bench 405+
Squat 550+
Deadlift 700+
Especially on squat and deadlift I'd like to beat those by 20-30 lbs, as bench is always slower to progress for me.
Total over 1500 in a PL meet in the 198's.

- Bench 405 once more, then Bench 500 or close to it.
- Overhead 275
- 20 inch arms
- Fix my lats and leg imbalance
- Reach 260 without much fat gain and with good conditioning.
- Bring up my chest and back thickness.

Finally had a sit down and a think about my goals for this year.
Current
Bench: 130kg
Squat: 170kg
Dead: ?
Press: 75kg
PP: 90kg
Front Squat: 135kg
OHS: 60kg
Year End Goals
Bench: 150kg / 330lbs
Squat: 190kg / 418lbs
Dead: 230kg / 506lbs
Press: 85kg / 187lbs
Push Press: 110kg / 244lbs
OHS: 100kg / 220lbs
Front Squat: 150kg / 330lbs
Dead Hang Pullups: 50kg x 3, 60kg x 1, bw x 30
Clean: 120kg / 264lbs
Snatch: 90kg / 198lbs
1 mile run: 5:45
2 minutes of burpees: 50 reps
In the past I've aimed unrealistically high and because of setbacks haven't achieved. This time I'm aiming high but should be able to hit all of this even with some setbacks. But here's to a full year training!

Well, the only one i came relatively close to was the bench hittng 345. Still a ways off. The other goals, not even close. Maybe this year.

I know that feel. I was on a roll when I made the goals, so they ended up being way to ambitious. Especially considering dropping a weight class instead of gaining weight, which was originally the plan.

Do you even mass gain?
We should probably make a 2013 goals thread.
