Christian Thibaudeau: @ mertdawg... I actually like pauses during the eccentric... I like that much more than going very slow on purpose, especially with advanced trainees... intramuscular friction will greatly help during slow eccentrics, robbing the muscles from some stimulation. And the more scar tissue build up you have in your muscle, and the bigger the muscle fibers are, the less mechanical work the actual muscle fibers are doing during a slow eccentric action.

Christian Thibaudeau: @ Justin... PLAZMA is special, honestly. I noticed a difference when switching from the old Anaconda/SWF to the new ANACONDA... but when I added PLAZMA it was like night and day.

Christian Thibaudeau: @Marty... I guess it depends on your mindset. Some people might need the time incentive, but most aren't that way, at least from my experience training over 500 athletes ;)

Christian Thibaudeau: @ Dave-G... she crushed it when she did it for the Academy... she did very well today BUT had one problem with the push/pull machine... not because of the weight (the prowler prepared her for that) but because it was super humid and she had trouble with her grip. She still made it with time to spare though... surprisingly I found the tests pretty well designed and liked the fact that guys and girls had the same test and passing grade.

Christian Thibaudeau: @ Jacked: performance can go down the first week or tow, then the body adapts to it. But understand that performance in term of the amount of weight lifter can drop a bit, BUT performance in regard to the tension produced by the muscle will go up. Furthermore, the system will improve the capacity to perform at a high level even in a state of metabolic fatigue.

Dan Trink: @Arthurl12 I am a bigger a fan of sweet potatoes, but that being said if you make progress with white potatoes as part of your plan then continue to implement them. Carbohydrate tolerance, and nutrition in general, is a very individual thing. I mentioned trial and error in the article and this could be a great place to use that concept. Experiment with both, analyze the effects, and adjust. Just make sure the timing and portions follow the template.

Christian Thibaudeau: Anyway... her test where in a university sport center, which had a gym, so I was able to get a good training session in. I brought my ANACONDA/PLAZMA with me and attained the largest pump and arm vascularity in my whole life, just when I needed it the most: when I'm trying to establish status as the Alpha-male in the gym :)

Christian Thibaudeau: She will soon be proposed a posting then will have to go back to the academy for 4 weeks.

Christian Thibaudeau: Sorry for being late to the party. As some of you know I was away with my wife for her police tests. SHE MADE IT! So she is almost through with the whole process. She first (1) studied 3 years to get a degree in police science (2) applied for the police academy (3) did the conditioning test for the academy (4) went to the academy for 16 weeks (5) underwent a psychological profiling test (6) was interviwed by ranked officer in the provincial police (7) did the tests today...

Dan Trink: @cubuff2028 Haha I know where you are coming from. Everyday I fight my inner fat boy. I get the sense you bring those foods up with the idea in mind of a "cheat" day/meal. I will defer to the King of Cheat Days himself John Romaniello on how to go about implementing one because it can be done. I just don't feel comfortable recommending the foods you bring up (despite the fact that they are carb sources) as regular parts of any diet aiming to optimize body composition.

Dan Trink: @ZJStrope So long as the integrity of the "workout window" nutrition is maintained, the number of your feedings outside of that time frame is of lesser importance. Just make sure the meals you do eat outside of the window still follow the carb cycling template. I want the plan to work for YOU

Chris Shugart: @brandon: I do believe Tim was playing of the name "Finish" as in "finish line" and "Fuel for the Finish" for FINiBARs. It was originally developed as a competition bar, after all. And yes, it was originally tested on our sprint cycling / velodrome team. I have an old blog about that group somewhere around here. Beasts on bikes, they are.

Dan Trink: @Chris In addition, on high/moderate days you want to promote the production and use of insulin to drive muscle growth. That makes the insulinogenic quality of whey protein a good addition to a high/moderate day breakfast, a time of day when insulin sensitivity is on the higher end.

Dan Trink: @Chris Protein powders even without carbs can actually be pretty insulinogenic. I also think it is more effective, when possible, to get your calories and nutrients from whole food sources. When it comes to workout nutrition though, low carb protein protein powders(Metabolic Drive and Isopure) and high carb protein powders (Surge Recovery) can be effective.

itisfinished: CT, Have you posted a full pump protocol for quad dominant and hip dominant sessions? I saw the post on pre-pumping the hamstring for squat work. Also, what does an OH press oriented session look like? This is all very cool stuff.

Question: i train on a similar split to the one in the article but with a "heavy" and "light" day for both the lower and upper body. Would it be advisable to have the high carb days on the heavy training days and then the medium carb days on the light training days? Thanks
