How much do you weigh now? You've competed before?

X yes i am currently sitting at 226.. I have competed but it was years ago.. from 2001 to 2003 I weighed in at 164 dehydrated for my first competition started out at about 190 before diet.. NPC minnesota gopher state in 2001 I actually won the overall at that weight.. too many of the heavy guys were not in show condition.. even beat out a guy who has since gone natural pro.. never taken less than a 2nd place in my old weight class... I am hitting it hard now going to make a run at a couple shows next spring.. I am expecting to weigh in at 185-190.. depends how the rest of the year goes.. there is a picture of me in my profile from one of the shows.. dont remember which one... Losing weight is easy for me its getting in the 6-7 a day to grow that i struggle with. Anyhow heavy deads and squats are what built my base.. a back injury maybe 6 years ago sidelined me for a long time.. and i really never got back on the horse with squats until about a year ago but only recently have i started to push the weights but everything is going very well..

woooo I'm finally in! thanks again Stu! hi guys, it's an honor to be invited into the Alpha Cell.

WALL OF TEXT BELOW

I've been lifting on and off since I was a freshman playing hs football, but I didn't see any real progress until the past year or so due to lack of commitment, program ADD and some injuries. four years ago, I weighed 195 with a belly circumference near 50", no real musculature to speak of, total cholesterol near 300 and systolic BP in the 130-140 range due to poor diet, inactivity, smoking and genetics. I started working out regularly, but I was doing everything I saw in M&F and ate healthier but like a bird (I would have one apple after 6pm and water until I went to sleep). I got down to a small, very weak and flat 165.

I had been reading a lot on this site and started 5/3/1. I got up to a stronger 180-185 from my own retarded 5/3/1 routine and eating more (though not consistently). push press went from 95xsum to 125x9, smith bench went from 155x5 to 315x2, deadlift from 185xsum to 270x9, squat from 155xsum to 235x6. technique sucked (I pulled my back twice deadlifting) but I got stronger.

I had plans to go to DR with my gf and friends this past May, so I adopted an all-out approach and went on a 16 week hard cut. I did double or triple sessions every training day, starting with a protein pulse fast at work the day before the first training day of the week, then on the actual day I would do a "fasted" 60-75 minute walk, have a big meal, do a HIIT weighted complex for 30 minutes sometimes followed by 15 minutes of loaded carries, then 45-60 minutes of steady cardio later in the day. I got down to the much leaner 170 in my old avi.

I was lacking size everywhere so after DR I started a bulk. at first, my training and eating were lacking intelligence and commitment, but thanks to mr. popular and his friend I started doing a basic BB split and consistently eating more.

I currently weigh 205, seated ohp 145x8, bench 225x10, squat 205x10 (finally to parallel or close), and just yesterday deadlifted 365x1.

I eventually hope to weigh a much leaner 190-200, post a 1200 raw total or more and get 18" arms. idk what chest and leg circumference would look good on me yet so I'm just aiming for gains every month. basically I want to be strong and look the part, with more emphasis on looks.

Hey everyone, Professor X just let me in. I hope to contribute what I can here but more than anything learn from all of you that are more experienced than me. I'm 24 years old and I have been lifting for about 11 years now on and off. But seriously for the last 2. I hope to compete in bodybuilding one day but I don't know if I'll get the balls to put on some trunks and get on stage haha. I'm still natural at the moment but I've been researching steroids more seriously lately but I think I'll still wait another 2 or 3 years to go to the dark side haha.

I found T-Nation a little over 2.5 years ago, and my life honestly has not been the same since. I started training weighing a little less than 140 at 6'1". I was just about all skin and bones. Without going into too much detail, I got bit by the iron bug and have been chasing strength and size ever since. I am doing my first PLing meet July 14th, where I hope to beat all 3 of the current USAPL state of Kansas records for my age and weight class (20-23, 198 class). I plan to step on stage some day, but I don't want to rush it just to do it. I'd like to have a decent amount of size on me before I do that.

I'm not one to take pictures, but I've gained a little over 60 lbs since starting. I'll post 2 videos of myself from start to finish for comparison:

This video makes me laugh. from November of 2009. A failed squat of what looks like 160, probably weighing 150.

And this video was taken today. My first time pulling 600. BW has been hovering at 200 in the morning lately.

I don't really have any huge long term goals other than; make it to the Arnold Expo's PLing competition in Columbus, OH; total elite; win a pro carb through BBing? The last one may be a long shot, because BBing isn't my main focus right now, but that makes me want it even more.

Haha why thank you.

Have not been playing as much lately :( Between finishing up my civil engineering degree and training, I haven't have much free time lately. But, I have been picking up my Scheckter recently and mmmm, feels good to play. Our drummer is still going to school at Berklee in Boston, MA so the band is still on hiatus. But, I'm moving to Phili, PA in December so maybe we'll have a chance to put on a show here and there.
